Zero Originality

I dont see the point of these videos other than a failed attempt at humor. If you didn't know this before hand, then you're out of touch with general business practices. Its not that hard to say NO i dont wanna buy preowned or NO i dont wanna pre-order something. People act like Gamestop and other major business are evil for trying to make money.

The slurring... I can't stand... the slurring! :cmad:

Well, this just kinda saved me from applying for Gamestop. I saw his ''The Dream Job" video, got to the part where they do a ''pocket check" after you leave each time and said ''Nope, not being treated like a thief."

That is a horrible horrible wannabe Yahtzee video.

His information is valid and informative, but his rip-off photoshopping, and his constant slurring of his words make this a huge chore to actually listen to.

Bleh

Haha, and i thought they just did that at my store. I worked at GS a few yrs back and i always thought that was BS, altho we only did it when the manager was working.

It's probably because they have a fair number of thiefs working there. I worked at the Funcoland (Gamestop's previous name), in high school. A few employees would buy old games like Altered Beast then take home the newest used games instead. Our total counts matched at the end of the night so it didn't matter that someone paid $1.99 for the hottest game out at the time.

Does this guy really think he's informing people about anything new though? It's old news, it's a great business model. I never buy games there anymore because I prefer to spend the extra $5 and get it new and never sell back my games, one because I'd get crap money back and two, might want to revisit it, especially these days with online play and content. However, some people really like the service they provide, so works for them.

"In this video, I'm going to imitate Zero Punctuation, but while talking at half the pace an' bargghhhl nottl zouss..."

I work at Gamestop and who gives a ****? It's just a job. The fact that there's internal theft at my store even though they pocket check leads me to believe it's warranted. And what's the big deal if you have nothing to hide.

Because I shouldn't have to work at a place where they don't even trust their employees. That's why. :o

His horrible attempt to try to be fast and funny, comes off like a bunch of words run together and constant slurrs.

GameStop isn't evil, this guy just has a hard on for the days of FuncoLand.

Epic Stupidity.:whatever:

I agree, but there are a few times I do go there. Like with wrestling games, usually new ones are just upgrades of old ones. I think Raw vs. Smackdown 2008 was as much of a step back as it was forward, so when I buy RvS 2009 (which does look much better) I'll probably trade RvS 2008 in to save $8 or so bucks on RvS 2009. However the amount of $$ they buy your games for is awful, pay $60, get $7 back...I'd rather eBay my games at that rate.

As for buying used games. I very, very rarely do anymore. However with PS3 games it's not so bad. BR disks have a protective coating so I don't have to worry about scratched disks really. Where I've bought used PS2 games that I got home and found out they were so scratched up they wouldn't play.

I go there everytime because its the closest video game retailer to me. Im not gonna drive the extra few miles just to go to a store not named Gamestop.

Like you i dont buy pre-owned often, but i love having that option. Same goes for the trade in. I rarely trade in games, but i like having the option.

Well I had an EB before it turned into a Gamestop, I used to go there once a month. Then after EB became Gamestop it moved out of the mall, then back in, then out....I honestly don't know if it's there or not anymore lol. The only Gamestop I def know where it is that's fairly close is an hour away. So for me to go to Gamestop it has to be over something I care enough time to spend a two hour drive on.

In fact I went there to buy a game a week ago, but I made sure to call first before I went to see if they had it. For new games I just go to WM or Best Buy (usually WM), but I do like trade in shops since they typically carry older games I normally have to ebay.

Gamestop isn't evil, it's just called supply and demand

They're not gonna give you 20 bucks for that crappy madden 2007 that they have millions of copies already nation wide.

Most companies don't trusts their employees. I've worked for two armored car companies and with that I have worked with over a dozen banks. Most places cover themselves from every angle. Gamestop sounds like they just do it a little more in your face. Probably because they've been burned by so many punk kids so many times. They do what's best for the company.

With all that said, I wouldn't let people frisk me every day after work.

Thank god my job doesn't do a full frisk. We just have to open our jackets like flashers to show there's nothing in our pockets.
