Same reason Bernie Sanders does. He wants to get their message to the majority of working Americans. Fox News is the highest rated of cable news. Dems usually avoid it like the plague, but they need to start appearing on their live shows to make sure their message reaches as many as possible.

Fox News is the highest rated of cable news??? Ohhhhhh my god. Idk if that’s just a reflection of America in totality or it means that the vast majority of people who still have cable are right wingers.

I think she's right. Mamdani didn't make it this far by appeasing to moderate Democrats or the establishment. I've also noticed lately that in televised interviews, his answers to news anchors' questions have been less direct and more dancing around the questions. he's also just doing more & more of just attacking Cuomo too.

You're going to quickly learn that Democratic leadership like to push candidates like Mamdani to make concessions to not alienate their more conservative (probably racist) party members. Like Obama did with Biden.

I completely understand that Mamdani may be making concessions but my point is that he doesn't need to. he's garnered this much support by going against the grain of the democratic establishment. the fact he hasn't been making concessions is what made him this popular.

if we want to see some foundational, systemic/systematic changes, then that means not appeasing to the conservative and probably racist party members and forcing them to align with people like Mamdani. they should be the ones caving, not the other way around.
