Iran is turning into China's newest Sudan....

It pisses me off to no end, to the point of tears, that we have to bow to a ****ing country like China because they own 60% of our debt. We have gotten ourselves into a situation where we cannot do what needs to be done and that is to tell China to go and **** themselves, we are moving on with harsh sanctions without them.

They totally ****ed up the countries of Sudan, Uganda, CAR and DRC....simply because they get cheap oil out of it....

So what does the world do? We give them the 2008 Olympics. I'm sure Iran will have the Olympics in my lifetime.
Good news Kel, China has been dumping treasuries and have been buying somewhere between little to none. They see no future or value for it. Due to this, Japan holds the most American debt as far as a foreign countries goes... and they want to get rid of it too. :awesome::up:

Well, last I heard Japan wasn't funding wars in Africa so they can keep the price of their oil down...

You know the Olympics is a pretty fitting punishment. The amount of ghost buildings and debt for generations to come is astronomical. Look at what happened to Athens, Greece. Look what is going to happen to Vancouver.

True...but its the whole.....we are going to look past the 1,000s of people killed that your $$$$ paid for....here's the symbol of peace and unity in our world, we want you to totally lie to the world, and put up a ****** facade for 2 weeks. Make it look good....because we know that you are a humanitarian nightmare within your borders, and fund humanitarian nightmares elsewhere.....good luck.

Iran would have to go through some serious changes before they would ever be chosen for the Olympics.

Like what?

What do they have right now that China does not?
What are they doing right now, that China isn't?
IN FACT, they had elections (fraudulent elections, but elections) China doesn't...

What is China doing differently than Iran?

IN FACT, Iran right now is changing their internet system in the SAME exact ways that China is...they are looking at the ways that China is shutting down their people's ability to use the internet. GOOGLE is gone in China, they left. China is putting up an "Iron Curtain" socially that rivals that of the Soviet Union, and Iran is right behind them.

So, if China was and still is the same as it was in 2008, and it is....then why couldn't Iran get the olympics. THE ONLY reason that Iran could not get the olympics is because of their infrastructure as of right now....they are no worse than China was in 2008, they just don't own the market on Secondary Economic Activities like China does...

No, I work with organizations in Africa that do most of their work in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan....

It is amazing how quickly those wars would stop if China would simply stop funding them. They are the key, and they won't even come to the table.

And yes, Iran being in the Middle East would keep them from receiving the Olympics, for sure....but countries like them elsewhere certainly could....hell I'm looking for the Olympics to be in Venezuela in my lifetime.

I didn't agree with the decision to award China the Olympics...I'm just saying that Iran's location takes away from any potential games. (Among other things.)

This thread is bumming me out. Considering in a couple years, we are going to be China's *****. This week is going to suck.

About Africa:

- 25 years ago it was the Soviet Union that was funding these wars. The current Angolan government in power was supported by the Soviet Union during the Civil War. We were the ones who put Mobutu in power in the DR Congo (when it was Zaire). And I don't think the Chinese were responsible for genocide in Rwanda, the Civil Wars in Liberia, Angola, Sierra Leone, the Ivory Coast and DR Congo. China had nothing to do with civil unrest in those countries.

Nor did I mention any of those countries...the LRA in Northern Uganda that has now moved into all of the countries that I mentioned in my previous post are funded by the government of Sudan, which is selling oil to China. The guns that groups like the Janjaweed of Sudan an the LRA are from China or bought with money from China. Russia also, has the same connection as China to Sudan, they just do not buy as much oil from Sudan as China does...

10 minute Video, very informative, I would recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about the region.

Darfur In 10 Minutes

There are some positive outlooks for Sudan today, and Sudan without Bashir is working very hard with the Ugandan government and other surrounding countries to stop Kony and the LRA.... hopefully this will happen soon.

Iran is in the middle east. China is not.

China has 30 Million Muslims and 40 million or so Christians. China also borders Kyrghizstan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Bangladesh. It's closer to the politics of these countries than you think. I agree with Kel, there is not much difference in terms of these two countries in terms of political and social repression.

Oh I agree as well. My point is that the location of Iran is undesirable to the public because it is in the Middle-East. It has nothing to do with social climate, politics, or religion. It's all about the perception of a Middle-Eastern country hosting the Olympics.

Personally I'd like to see an Indian Olympic event.

I hope we don't get into with Iran too. That would stir up a hornet's nest.
One we're not ready to tackle financially. and the cost of oil would skyrocket. the cost in lives would be great. we could draw China,Syria,Lebanon and Russia into it. It's not something anyone should want to do. It would crush the green movement in Iran.

I say let them have them. They're no different than Pakistan or N. Korea.

The tourists are going to love the transvestite bums chasing them down to blackmail them of money. :woot:

so I'm reading that Israel is feeling froggy and wants to attack Iran

I don't want to go to war with Iran either but I don't think we should let them just have nukes. That would be a very reckless decision.

When I think that the UN could not be a more ignorant, piece of wasted time, they do something like this....

Iran seated on U.N. Women's Commission

Amazing........:o
