🇷🇺🇺🇦 Discussion: Relations with Russia and the war in Ukraine

They probably will, and the American right will be cheering when it happens.

Sending a few spare weapons to Ukraine as per the Senate bill won't actually change the outcome. It will just delay it at the cost of additional Ukrainian lives.

If the West actually wants to win the war, they'll need to send in hundreds of thousands of their own troops and fight a direct war against Russia. And even that might not work. It didn't work in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

Do you want to go fight in Ukraine?

PS The Senate bill would also send weapons to Israel.

Probably made Graham's day if anything, lol.

Indicted ex-FBI informant told investigators he got Hunter Biden dirt from Russian intelligence officials

The former FBI informant charged with lying about the Bidens’ dealings in Ukraine told investigators after his arrest that Russian intelligence officials were involved in passing information to him about Hunter Biden, prosecutors said Tuesday in a new court filing, noting that the information was false.

Prosecutors also said Alexander Smirnov has been “actively peddling new lies that could impact US elections” after meeting with Russian spies late last year and that the fallout from his previous false bribery accusations about the Bidens “continue to be felt to this day.”

Smirnov claims to have “extensive and extremely recent” contacts with foreign intelligence officials, prosecutors said in the filing. They said he previously told the FBI that he has longstanding and extensive contacts with Russian spies, including individuals he said were high-level intelligence officers or command Russian assassins abroad.

Sure are a lot of connections between Russia and the Trump wing of the Republican Party. Never would have seen something like this coming, you know? :o

Are there still people defending Hunter Biden?

He's a deadbeat dad for crying out loud. He has a daughter that he refuses to pay child support for. The man is a monster. Stop defending him with Russia conspiracy theories.

A friend of mine actually knows the guys who worked on his laptop. Yes, it's a real laptop. And yes, he really is a garbage human being.

It's amazing what partisanship will make people believe.

You are right. And that is why I will not be voting for Hunter Biden for president.

It reflects quite poorly on JB that his son was a deadbeat dad, he should have ponied up the money himself, immediately. His granddaughter needed help. Any moral parent would step in if their son did that.

It's also the case that the justice department is intervening on Hunter Biden's behalf to protect him. You might dismiss that as minor, but think about what you would do if Trump Jr. had received that privilege. Presidential administration's shouldn't protect the first families in that manner.

Yes, Russia's been running out of weapons for several years. They're also going to invade all of Europe and they're going to put a flotilla of nuclear weapons lasers in Space.

Eventually people will notice that the above does not add up.

Not all weapons and ammo are the same. Are they running out of bullets? Probably not. Are the running out of artillery ammo, that may be a bigger issue. They clearly don't have a lot of those hypersonic missiles, as they seem to prefer the cheap Iranian drones.

As for the threat of them invading, well, it has been proven that they aren't exactly the top military power in the world. And yet, that isn't stopping them from keeping on trying. As for invading more of Europe, well, a lot of that comes from Russia itself.
