Something that hasn't been in the international media much is that during the last month, Nordea Bank has been facing countless DDoS attacks. This is the largest bank in the Nordics. The bank itself surmised that these attacks must have cost tens of millions to whoever is ordering them. That's my bank, and during the last month, there's been issues weekly, sometimes daily. Sometimes the accounts disappear entirely, the cards won't work, and verification systems are down. The bank says that all data is safe and that they've blocked 90% of the attacks, but it's still a worrying sign of increasing testing of our and our neighbors infrastructure. It started last year with the underwater data and communications cables (that Germany is currently requesting increased protection for because of their intelligence data of possible Russian interference), now this. During the summer, it was reported that there were several break-ins at local water supply facilities and sightings of shady personnel trying to enter them in several cities. Russia is certainly willing to play with the idea of a large international conflict, but the question is, is the West going to allow them to take it there?
