🇷🇺🇺🇦 Discussion: Relations with Russia and the war in Ukraine

Seems to me that the European allies support behind Ukraine is starting to crack because of Trump’s blackmail and threats to remove the little support the US still gives to Ukraine and even threatening the US departure from NATO… What a disgrace! Now Ukraine is forced to compromise and give in to almost everything Putin wants. Trump doing Putin’s biding, he has to please the boss of course.

Europe is falling into the trap of appeasing Trump. Europe needed to be more hawkish towards Russia and stand firmer against Trump’s bullish and blackmailing tactics.

Now they bend backwards on the Ukraine issue to please Trump, then they’ll eventually get screwed in the NATO issue as well.

**** Trump.

Europe has more than enough capital and firepower to stand up to Russia. They should focus for the time being on solidifying European union and let Trump run the US and its international relations get run into the ground in the remaining 3 years of Trump’s rule.

The US is not Trump. China and Russia know how to deal with Trump, do not backdown and give him an inch, respond in kind and demand everything. He will buckle.

I agree in that I hope Europe keeps propping Ukraine up. It's not fair that Putin should gain anything in a peace deal. If he does, he'll just see t rebuild his army and go after Ukraine again in a couple of years. Then Poland will be next.

Yeh letting Putin control Ukraine, plus Belarus on his pocket and that little bit in Romania… plus friendly Russian governments like Hungary, Slovakia… Them sending immigrants through Belarus to Poland… then all the interference in the European elections… plus the Baltic countries sandwiched in a appetizing spot for Russia, specially if NATO falls through… A recipe for disaster.

Europe is ”making it’s own bed” if they give in and not stand it’s ground.
