It was definitely a torn Achilles. The same thing happened to Damian Lillard a few weeks ago.Glad to see the Knicks come out on top tonight over the Celts. Has there ever been a time I rooted for Boston? No.......
Sorry, however, to see Tatum get injured. They were saying ankle, but when I watched that play, it had Achilles written all over it. I hope I'm wrong, but I just can't see Tatum playing again for at least this year and maybe not next.
That's what I think, but they haven't confirmed it. They said they were going to get an MRI to see what the extent of the injury was. I recently had my calf muscle come away from my achilles while exercising (jumping rope) and got an MRI on it. When I finally got to see the orthopedic surgeon he told me the MRI was a waste of time because he could tell exactly what happened just by examining me. Fortunately, I just needed a boot for awhile and no surgery was needed. So, "maybe" this wasn't as bad as it looked???? (crosses fingers). If he had my injury, rather than the tendon snapping, it's a much lesser injury. Tendons take a much, much longer time to heal than do muscles. It was definitely a torn Achilles. The same thing happened to Damian Lillard a few weeks ago.
I canāt stand either one of those teams. lol, but Iām pissed that I was right. I just didnāt see any other explanation. It's confirmed

Celtics' Tatum has surgery on ruptured Achilles
Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon.www.espn.com
I hate to see anyone get injured. Even a Boston player and I'm a Knicks fan.
Hope he's able to make a full recovery. (Even though it usually takes up to 12 months to recover from an injury like that.)It's confirmed

He'll probably have to sit out a while year like Durant did.
Celtics are about to enter a really bad period. Selling the team right after winning has to be one of the worst things to ever happen to this franchise. Bad owners really do just change the energy, and the energy around the team was bad as soon as that sale was announced.
Result? Worst case scenario. Losing to a Knicks team they are significantly better than. New owners are going to be cheap and blow up the roster because it's too expensive and the new NBA CBA is stupid. Their best player is potentially hurt and could miss the entire next season. Their second best player turned back into the sucky no handle pumpkin he was two years ago, which directly played into said best player getting hurt. And lastly the godawful coach is probably going to keep his job for at least another year. They'll be lucky to be a play-in team next year.
This sucks.
I'm not sure I would trade for Giannis. I'm not sure that would work once JT came back, similarly to how he and Dame didn't work. Both guys are just way too ball dominant. The nice thing about Brown is that despite wanting the ball often, he's much better working off ball. Would certainly be a fun experiment, though!Do you think the Cs should try to get Giannis this off season?
Its clear that KP will be gone now (he's pretty much useless right now)..so what do you think if Brad Stevens traded a KP-Jrue-Hauser-Pritchard for Giannis?
Or what about a straight up a JB for Giannis trade?
It is clear that JT won't be playing until 26-27 season, so I think the Celtics should try to tweak their roster to be still competitive next season until JT comes back.
If Giannis is going somewhere, I'd say San Antonio is as likely a destination as any. the Spurs have lucked out in the draft at just the right times and I think this could help them land Giannis without giving up their young players. I'd hate to give up that #2 pick, but ya gotta give something to get something. I think maybe the Bucks are ready to reload.I'm not sure I would trade for Giannis. With the second apron and a new owner, I think a lot of pieces are moving. Jrue and KP feel like definitely out the door. I wouldn't be shocked if they trade Hauser. I think Horford is either retirement or one last year somewhere else, particularly because of Tatum's injury.
Brown's injury makes things interesting. He's probably not going to be ready to go at the start of the season, and knee injuries always concern me. Those never seem to go away. If they're going to trade him, now's the time to do it. I'm still a little indecisive if I want a known commodity back or lottery picks.
