I think its a safe bet to say many of us are fans of the house of mouse.

From their library of absolute classics, to the ever expanding list of Marvel movies and even now new Star Wars movies all under the same banner.

One thing they do arguably better than any other studio ever is create some absolutely killer original songs for their movies. With that in mind I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's else's top 10 Disney songs are.

Here are mine in particular order:

  1. Can't Wait to Be King
  2. Make a Man Out Of You
  3. I Can Go The Distance
  4. Zero To Hero
  5. Under The Sea
  6. Friend Like Me
  7. A Very Merry Unbirthday
  8. You Can Fly
  9. Hakuna Matata
  10. The Bells of Notre Dame

What would yours be?

I guess we're making a distinction between song and score (like 'This Land' from The Lion King, which I really like)?

1. Part of Your World (The Little Mermaid)
2. I See the Light (Tangled)
3. That's How You Know (Enchanted)
4. What's This? (The Nightmare Before Christmas)
5. This is Halloween (The Nightmare Before Christmas)
6. When Will My Life Begin? (Tangled)
7. Happy Working Song (Enchanted)
8. I Won't Say I'm in Love (Hercules, if the Belinda Carlisle version counts)
9. Kiss The Girl (The Little Mermaid)
10. Under the Sea (The Little Mermaid)

From the classics, I like "A Whole New World" (Peabo Bryson version) and "Can you Feel the Love Tonight".

From the newer movies, I actually like "Shiny" from Moana. It's just silly and Clements delivery is spot on.

I’m no particular order:

1: How Far I’ll Go (Moana)
2: Let It Go (Frozen)
3: Dig A Little Deeper (Princess & The Frog)
4: Evermore (Beauty & The Beast: 2017)
5: How Does A Moment Last Forever (Beauty & The Beast: 2017)
6: Make A Man Out Of You (Mulan)
7: Circle of Life (Lion King)
8: the song whose name I can’t remember, from the Winnie the Pooh movie where Piglet gets lost: anybody remember that?
9: Reflections (Mulan)
10: You’ll Be In My Heart (Tarzan)

1. Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah (Song of the South)
2. Love is a Song (Bambi)
3. When You Wish Upon a Star (Pinocchio)
4. Bella Notte (Lady and The Tramp)
5. Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame)
6. There A'int No Strings on Me (Pinocchio)
7. Kiss the Girl (The Little Mermaid)
8. Let's Go Fly a Kite (Mary Poppins)
9. Under the Sea (The Little Mermaid)
10. The Bear Necessities (The Jungle Book)

10. The Bear Necessities (The Jungle Book)

:eek:HOW DID I FORGET THIS!!!

Loved this song and movie as a kid, Brer Rabbit and the tar baby scene used to get me everytime.

Probably the one Disney song I find I end up singing to myself whenever its a nice day.

Off of the top of my head:

1. When you wish upon a star
2. Be Prepared
3. Be Our Guest
4. Part Of Your World
5. The Circle Of Life
6. Gaston
7. Kill The Beast
8. Why Should I Worry?
9. Zip A Dee Doo Dah
10. Hellfire

All my favorite Disney songs are TV themes, don't really care much for the film songs.

1. "Part of Your World" (The Little Mermaid)
2. "A Whole New World" (Aladdin)
3. "The Circle of Life" (The Lion King)
4. "Under the Sea" (The Little Mermaid)
5. "Be Our Guest" (Beauty and the Beast)
6. "A Friend Like Me" (Aladdin)
7. "Let It Go" (Frozen)
8. "Be Prepared" (The Lion King)
9. "Colors of the Wind" (Pocahontas)
10. "For the First Time in Forever" (Frozen)

Honorable mentions:

11. "Gaston" (Beauty and the Beast)
12. "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" (Frozen)
13. "I'll Make a Man Out of You" (Mulan)
14. "One Jump Ahead" (Aladdin)
15. "Hellfire" (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)

*I just realized I was only counting animation. If you include Mary Poppins (the original), this list would look quite different.

"Be Our Guest" and "Colors of the Wind" just barely missed my list. Other honorable mentions include "Hey Diddly Dee, It's an Actor's Life for Me, " "Trust in Me," " Have You Ever Seen an Elephant Fly? ", and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."

The films with the best set of songs are Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, and Pinocchio. Several classics in those.

It is just so joyful. I don't think there is another song that just brightens my spirits more when hearing/singing it. I have one of those battery operated mini-animatronics of an Eastern Bluebird that tweets it.

Yes, "Chim Chim Cheree," "Feed the Birds," "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," "Let's Go Fly a Kite," and "A Jolly Holiday with Mary" are top tier songs. And no one's mentioned because it's weaker than the two favorites, but Little Mermaid's "Kiss the Girl" is also fantastic.

Actually "Kiss the Girl" was on my list. I have it as the top song in the movie, although "Under the Sea" is right there with it. I don't think anybody has mentioned "Poor Unfortunate Souls" though.

The Lion King also has a great soundtrack. My cousin had "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" played for the first dance at her wedding reception.

Ah, I forgot that. Heh, I do love a calypso number in Disney, it's just that, yes, "Part of Your World" and "Under the Sea" are so tremendous for me in obviously different ways.

Yes I included two from Lion King, but the whole thing is really great. Also "I Can't Wait to be King" is excellent. I know nostalgia is a bias, but '89-'94 was peak Disney in my mind.

I would go with 37-42. Five straight films and every one an all-time classic. Pinocchio AND Fantasia in the exact same year. That's just insane! 89-94 would definitely be next though. I don't think they had a miss between Oliver and Company and Pocahontas. I even liked Rescuers Down Under.

This is the most difficult list I've ever had to compile. It would have been easier to make one of the songs that are not my favorites.

Not in order,

Poor Unfortunate Souls
Under the Sea
Beauty and the Beast
Pink Elephants on Parade
Be Prepared
I'll Make a Man Out of You
How Far I'll Go
Let It Go
The Bells of Notre Dame
You Can Fly

1. Feed the Birds
2. Friend Like Me
3. Kiss the Girl
4. Pink Elephants on Parade
5. Chim Chim Cheree
6. Circle of Life
7. Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah
8. Poor Unfortunate Souls
9. Strangers Like Me
10. Son of Man
