****ing CNN going on about gun control. Figured this was coming...

My dad lives a couple of miles from the theater this shooting happened in. I've seen movies there quite a few times. It's a damn tragedy.

Go watch the movie and enjoy yourself. Nothing good comes from overreacting and putting a table in front of your door. It was an isolated violent act of a mad man. The poor souls that died lost their lives doing something they loved and were passionate about. Go see the movie and enjoy yourself in memory of them. Don't let this ass win by playing into his hysteria.

I live 15 miles away and I am still going tonight. Just be more vigilant but enjoy the movie. Sad day today here in Denver.

[Updated 3:39 p.m. ET] A spokeswoman has confirmed to CNN that Warner Bros. will not be canceling any screenings of "The Dark Knight Rises." The blockbuster raked in $27 million on midnight screenings alone on Thursday, according to Exhibitor Relations.

Their song will change IF the numbers indicate underperformance.

To be blunt....some here will call me a jerk for saying this....but if they pull it from theaters when I have already bought my tickets and arranged my whole schedule this weekend around attending TWO showings Saturday and Sunday with different people....I will be pissed off.

There is no valid reason for them to do this. None whatsoever.

It won't be "honoring the victims" to pull a movie from theaters that had nothing to do with why Holmes did what he did in the first place, and it would be giving him far wider-reaching influence than he deserves.

Business. If the movie underperforms, business would be their valid reason. I'm not saying it is right, but it is valid for a company to try to salvage a release if possible.

That said, I think it is moot. The movie isn't going to perform as well as it would have now, but it will do well enough. This isn't going to deter enough people to cause Warners to pull it.

I'm guessing that one movie now Gangster Squad or whatever, will be editing the scene in their movie regarding the shootout.

So is there any law in Colorado for those that know that says there is a limit on the amount of guns a person can own?

That, and you can get shot by a homicidal madman buying groceries.

There are other things to talk to talk about here, much more important things, like the fact that the shooter, who was clearly sick, was able to get his hands on some serious weaponry.

Matt's right. I doubt the movie will really suffer in the long run or even this weekend maybe a few thousand or million in loss but what's 78 million compared to 82 million really.

I just hope people don't keep connecting this shootout to the film, but rather a shootout at the cinema.

A lot of this is your fault for putting a face to one of the victims. Sure, this event might be in the back of one's mind when watching the movie now that the incident got national coverage, but snooping around the girl's Twitter page is just subjecting yourself to grief-porn and its' ultimately your fault if you can't watch the movie.

Maybe, but I'm not the only one.
