When did you join the Hype?
Fall 2003. I lurked for a week or two at best, then decided I liked the place and wanted to a part of it.
What’s your favorite forum?
The general Marvel Comics thread, where all the previews are.
What brought you here?
Believe it or not, the "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" movie. I was sixteen, and loved it. Then I actually read the graphic novel. Then I stopped loving the movie so much.
What made you stay?
News about upcoming movies, a place to talk about comics (not a great community for that where I grew up), and it was something to do.
Who is your Hype Nemesis?
I haven't had one in a while. Back when Lazur and Fred Fury were around, I couldn't stand them, but they've both been banned. So, you know, don't mess with me.

Brick wall types when having debates. Some people get one idea, and just don't let it go, no matter how irrational it is.

What’s your job?
Student, mostly. Also an assistant forensics coach, and amateur talking head and community organizer.
What kind of vehicle do you drive?
2000 Saturn. It's black.
Dream car?
Bentley Continental R Mulliner. Saw one in a magazine in middle school, and fell in love. I will never, ever own one.
What is your greatest regret?
It's a bit too embarrassing to just say, but something I did that ended a relationship a few years ago.
What is your greatest achievement?
Thus far, either placing in state forensics in high school (it was my life back then), or organizing a domestic violence awareness week at KU about two months ago.
High school mascot?
This is complicated. It was called a Junior Blue. See, my high school was associated with a local university for a long time, and when it broke away, it kept the picture, changed the colors, and gave it a nonsensical name. The old logo was an "Ichabod", after Ichabod Washburn, and the mascot was just him. So now Washburn Rural High School has a picture of a guy in a top hat and tails, and it is blue, and that is our mascot.
How do you like your steak?
Medium well, with some good sauce (I'm an A1 fan).
What’s a bad habit of yours? Feel free to mention more if you’d like:
I chew on my right thumb. I don't suck on it, like a little kid, but at times, when I'm thinking, I'll literally find myself chewing on the joint part of it.
Favorite Place to Eat?
I'm a sucker for a good Chinese buffet. In Topeka, it's the China Pavilion, and in Lawrence it's the Jade. My single favorite, though, is the Free State Brewery.
How many tattoos do you have?
NONE.

I'll be cliche and say the Marvel 616 universe. I want to have a beer with Deadpool, y'know?

The signing of the Declaration of Independence, so I could make John Hancock feel all self-conscious.

Teddy Roosevelt, William Shakespeare, and Tom Waits.
What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
"Inglorious Basterds".
What is your favorite TV show?
Of all time? "Arrested Development". Currently? "The Colbert Report".
What is your best childhood memory?
Day camp, the zoo, Halloween. All the usual fun things.
An embarrassing moment?
Going to a pool party when I was little, and changing without realizing people were in the room.

One of those Borders/Barnes and Noble type places.

Tom Waits "Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards" compilation. It was a Chanukah present.

Just how bored are you?

Rather. I spent four days snowed in at my parent's house (visiting for a bit, had to stay longer). I can actually leave now, but the roads still aren't great, so I doubt I'm going back to Lawrence quite yet.

What excites you?

New opportunities. The possibility that my most recent dream girl might be single again.

The one about topless cyclists protesting not being able to cycle in a Chasidic neighborhood. The levels of "smug" and "dumbass" are far too high in it. Both in one thread could spell disaster.

-I haven't had time to write in a while. When I plug at it, it's because I have time to spend on something so silly. why do you hate country music?

It's the modern, mainstream stuff that inspires genuine hatred. It's just so bland and manufactured. Essentially, they've taken adult contemporary pop, another awful genre, and added southern drawls and the occasional "country" instrument, and called it a new genre. I'm pretty patient with classic country (Johnny Cash), bluegrass, and some more alternative stuff (Steve Earle), but you put on anything that CMT is going to put in heavy rotation, and I'll just roll my eyes.

What's your favorite summer movie of 09 and why?
"Star Trek". I only saw a few movies in theaters this year, and that was by far the best.

"Zombieland". It's been a while since I left a theater feeling so happy.

I swear by "The Office", though I'm also an "NCIS" fan.

*looks it up* Her name is Stefania Fernandez, and she is Venezuelan. She looks cute. Honestly, I don't care the slightest thing about Miss Universe. For the second part, I shall say Venezuela, since according to Wikipedia the last two have been from there.
