I've been lurking since 2005 and finally made a user name in June of 2006.

What’s your favorite forum?
Misc. film

What brought you here?
One of my younger sisters told me about it.

What made you stay?
The people and the conversations about film, not to mention a lot of other website forums that I checked out I just didn't care for.

Who is your Hype Nemesis?
I really don't think I have one.

People who either skim over my posts or seemingly choose to leave out certain sentences to give a rebuttal that makes me have to point out what they missed/ignored thus slowing down the argument/discussion.


Link us to a thread you really enjoy: I would post the link but it took me damn near 20 minutes just to get in my 15 minutes thread from the SHH homepage due to some of the ****tiest servers on the internet. Don't all those annoying ads we're forced to look at pay $$$$ to these sites??

I guess a thread I really enjoy is the "What's the last film you've watched" thread. Good way to come across some movies you might never existed.

What’s your job? Operations department at an insurance company

What kind of vehicle do you drive? 2003 Honda Civic. I really miss my '78 Mustang Cobra(Mustang II) though.

Dream car?
Not really a grease monkey so I guess i'll just choose the old Mustang that I used to have.

What is your greatest regret?
I have a fair amount of regrets from being too shy and introverted most of my life but I guess it would be not sticking with school after I graduated High School. Didn't really know what I wanted to do so I kept working. I plan on going to a junior college next spring though.


What is your greatest achievement?
Haven't had any achievements that are really worth calling greatest but I guess one would be not going down the wrong path and turning out as a lowlife or a bum.


High school mascot? A cowboy.

How do you like your steak? Medium well

What’s a bad habit of yours? Feel free to mention more if you’d like:
Not always keeping eye contact when talking to someone but I have gotten a lot better at it.

Favorite Place to Eat? Chilis or Applebees I guess.

How many tattoos do you have?
2, I have the White Zombie logo on my left shoulder(yeah I know getting band tattoos are stupid but I didn't care) and the second one is a werewolf on my right pectoral.

If you could live in any fictional universe, what would it be, and why?
I guess either the Marvel or DC universe, although i'm mainly a Marvel fan. I know, easy and probably cliche choice given the website that we're at. Reasoning would be because I would hope to be born with mutant abilities and if I was just normal it would kickass to have Superheroes to protect us.


If you could be present for any historical event, what? Why? The building of the original pyramids. I would like to see if the History channel is correct in their guess of how they were made.

Name three people, living or dead, you would want to have dinner with?
Kurt Russell, Dean Martin and Lee Marvin. With Dean Martin it would be great to have dinner with him while smoking drinking and having a few laughs. Russell is one of my favorite actors and Lee Marvin simply kicks ass.


What was the last film you saw at the cinema? Kick Ass

What is your favorite TV show?
I try not to watch much TV but I would have to say Rescue Me, Celebrity Apprentice or Deadliest Catch. Hard to just choose one of those.

What is your best childhood memory?
Being in grade school reading comics, playing video games, watching movies and playing with action figures with my friends.


An embarrassing moment?
In third grade I was on the walkup ramp to one of the 2 portables my school recently got and while I was standing on it during lunch break someone pantsed me, not just my pants came down but my underwear as well.

Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
Best Buy/Amazon. Maybe even my local comic shop.


What is the last cd/mp3 you acquired?
I think the last CD I bought was Megadeth's last album

Probably the one involving the Octomom, the fact that she was getting so much attention in the media and online was another low point in our society. I would link it but the servers are slow as always.

Hahaha! No and it's funny because i'm surprised you still remember that. I asked him roughly 3 times and he never replied. I guess we were right in that he just didn't get the film, which is why it wasn't surprising when he called it pretentious.

Favorite film (or films if you can't name just one)?

In no particular order. Jaws, Godfather II, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Godfather, The Shawshank Redemption and The Aviator just to name a few. I would have to be at home to look at my movie collection to remember a few others that I can't think of at the moment.

Favorite guilty pleasure flick? Off the top of my head either Ghost Rider or Waterworld.

Is your name from something/mean anything, or is it just kind of...Figs?

It's been my nickname for most of my life, at least since gradeschool. My last name is Figueiredo.

Who would play you in a biopic?

Tough one. I guess I would pick Joseph Gordon Levitt since he's roughly my size and only an inch taller than me. I know he's currently one of those fanboy favorites but that's why he popped in my head first because this question is a fairly hard one for me to answer accurately.

Universal. Although I consider myself a really big horror movie fan, to be honest i've never gotten around to seeing that many Hammer films. I think the majority that i've seen I watched when I was a kid so I can't remember them all that well.

I honestly don't think so. There have been a couple of posters in the past that I don't think come here anymore that I would love to meet in person if you know what I mean.

Haven't yet found one but my gf keeps kicking my ass to try to write more. My problem is I can't think of any good ideas since so much has been done before. Any other "arts" I never tried long enough to see if I was any good or got any better like drawing or learning to play music.

I try not to watch too much TV because it can suck you in for hours. I also don't think most of the shows that are on are that good and I got sick of canned laughter a longtime ago.

Current favorite would probably be Rescue Me or Deadliest Catch.

As for favorite classic. I would have to say either A-Team, Knightrider or The Hulk(when Bixby changed in that and it did the closeup of his eyes that always scared me a bit since I was really young at the time)

The Geico one always annoys me with that voice.

The clown one always cracks me up, that one is by far the funniest.

The Snickers one is pretty damn good but isn't as funny after you see it the first time. It was a bit of a laughing wtf when they threw in Abe Vigoda at the end though.

What video games would you like to see turned into a film? Who would star and direct in them?

You think Jake Gyllenhaal would have made a good Batman?

What movies will you be seeing in theaters this year and what have you already seen?

What video games would you like to see turned into a film? Who would star and direct in them?

Top pick for me that would be easiest to convert since the story is already there and doesn't need to be altered big time like Mario Brothers would be God of War. Dominic Purcell would have the look down but i'm not sure about his acting ability. If he's a decent actor I wouldn't mind him taking on the role, if not then I would want to be surprised with a newcomer. I'm having trouble thinking of the right director for this kind of film. There are some directors out there who could handle an epic like this but I fear they would tone it down.

Second game would be Shadow Man. Although he's obviously older now I would have wanted Laurence Fishburne possibly. I think I would have liked Alex Proyas to have directed or maybe The Hughes Brothers but i'm not sure if they would be good at dealing with the visuals needed. Another pick would be Christophe Gans after seeing what he did with Silent Hill.

You think Jake Gyllenhaal would have made a good Batman?

Honestly, so far I like Gyllenhaal but for some reason I can't see him as Batman or Bruce for that matter. I think he just looks too young in the face and I haven't seen him in anything that would give me the impression that he could be real menacing(for when he's in the cape and cowl of course).

What movies will you be seeing in theaters this year and what have you already seen?

I've already seen The Wolfman, Shutter Island, Alice in Wonderland, Clash of the Titans and Kick Ass.

I plan on seeing A Nightmare on Elm Street, Iron Man 2, maybe Prince of Persia, Predators, Inception, The Expendables and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows part 1. Jonah Hex and Scott Pilgrim are up in the air. There are others that I want to see but I can wait to rent later and I haven't taken a hard look at what Oscar type films will be coming out near the end of the year.

Why is Begins better than TDK?

I liked how it was focused on Bruce/Batman way more than in TDK. I liked the tone and visual look of the film. Gotham in BB had more night shots and with the narrows scenes it felt darker and grittier like Gotham should be. Batman was also in the shadows more which I liked a lot. I'm also a sucker for origin stories and was happy with how they did Bruce's in BB despite changes from the comic.

And what Batman villain would you like to see in live action? (Done before, or totally new)

I would like to see what Nolan could do with the Riddler. As for a villian that's never been done before, I think I would like to see Killer Croc and Firefly as side villians and maybe the Ventriloquist/Scarface. Black Mask would be pretty cool so long as Nolan adds a bit more depth to him.
