Does your family still own the cabins?

Do you still play tennis?

Wow, I come back from vacation just in time.......... for my stream of consciousness to not be fully operational for Kel's 15 minutes. Still, I have to try. Not my best effort, but here we go!

Where were you on the night of September 11, 1967?

Do you stand by your earlier statements I made up that David Leisure is greatest comic commercial actor of the last generation?

Would you consider this appropriate attire? Discuss.

For Marx:
Does your family still own the cabins? No, we sold them and bought a mobile home and started traveling to Cedar Creek Lake which was much closer....but we sold all of that years ago.

Do you still play tennis? No, I blew my knee out my Freshmen year of college...

For VampElvis:

Where were you on the night of September 11, 1967?
Not even in the mind of my mother....I was an ooops a few years later.

Do you stand by your earlier statements I made up that David Leisure is greatest comic commercial actor of the last generation? Sure...

Would you consider this appropriate attire? Discuss.
http://www.zazzle.co.uk/hungry_for_turkey_tshirt-235632287778430396 Turkey is a nice country, the radical Islamic faction of its government unfortunately will keep it from being voted into the EU this year.
http://www.zazzle.co.uk/mappa_mooooondi_tshirt-235266323830275171 This is a nice T-shirt, except it is obvious that it was made in the United States, since it has the US as the center of the world.
http://www.zazzle.co.uk/alaska_hawaii_arizona_coast_tshirt-235530623802942621 Ah yes, the old....lazy map of the US.
http://www.zazzle.co.uk /geography_teachers_cool_kids_of_edu_world_tshirt-235601102082610195 We definitely have that reputation...we never have kids asking us "Why do we have to learn this stuff...." Being a current event class, kinda throws the "its another history class" out the window. :cwink:
http://www.zazzle.co.uk/miracles_and_geography_teachers_tshirt-235737975425643710 This is a T-shirt I would wear on the day my kids take the EOC (End of Course: Exam)
http://www.zazzle.co.uk/geography_all_the_cool_kids_tshirt-235345825083200858 Very True...
http://www.zazzle.co.uk/latitude_longitude_t_shirt_houston_texas_usa-235895020595001052 Very cool T-shirt...

What are you comments on your efforts to have National Geography Awareness Week declared a federal holiday in the United States? The whole week, hell yeah.

True or False. The inhabitants of the Po Valley are correctly referred to as Po People. False, they are Italian.

Ever eaten at a Po Folks? As a matter of fact, yes I have...their Blackberry Cobbler is to die for.

Folk Tales or Folk Songs. Your preference? Folk Tales

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of:

(b) The Socialist Party
(c) The Tea Party

Do you consider Sugar Free Syrup a liberation or a bane to society? A disgusting blight on society that must be done away with....

T Boone Pickens. Genius, Madman, Opportunist, Other? Discuss. All of the above, which most innovators are...

Do you know the way to San Jose?
As a matter of fact, yes I do...I 10W to I 40W.

Shark vs Orca. Winner? Well, I would have to go with the Orca, even though in the wild, they would probably just say hello and move on....the Orca's superior intellect would win out in the end. IMO.

What do you feel is Richard Harris’ finest role?
It's a toss up between "A Man Called Horse" and "Hawaii"....

Rolls or biscuits? Easy, Biscuits

Are homemade buttermilk biscuits in your culinary repertoire? Yes...along with the gravy...

True or False. A mountain range is a cooking stove used at high altitudes. False

Favorite TV Chef? Paula Deen

Favorite TV Show? Damages

Show me the money or show me the goods? Depends on who's goods they are...

Where were you on the night of March 29, 1978? I was living in Dallas, Texas near White Rock Lake...at night, it was a Tuesday so it was a school night....I had probably already finished my homework...so I was probably watching TV with the family.

For Marx:
How many threads are you subscribed to? I have absolutely no idea...

How did you blow out your knee?
For Marx:
How many threads are you subscribed to? I have absolutely no idea...

You know there's a way to check that, right? :oldrazz:

For Mark:
How did you blow out your knee? Knee problems are a medical problem most in my family have...I had hurt my knee in Dallas around the age of 10 playing pee wee soccer...so it was already weak to a certain extent. I was helping out the Tennis coach teaching his tennis class, I did not have the proper footwear on and when I went to slide into a forehand, I slid, my knee didn't....the tennis shoes I was wearing gripped the ground....and that was all it took....I was done. I wasn't planning on going pro, so there wasn't much of a reason to do the very extensive surgery. Today, it would be a fairly easy surgery with good physical therapy....back then it wasn't.

You know there's a way to check that, right? :oldrazz: Yes, but in order to find out, I needed to finish here and go and look....:yay: The lag makes it hard to open up another window to look.....but to answer your question 2,835.

For Marx:
Have you ever travelled abroad? If so, where? I've spent quite a bit of time in Central America...Mexico, Costa Rico, Honduras, also spent quite a bit of time in Canada

Where is your favorite place to travel in the states? When I'm not here, I'm in the Appalachian Mountains, mostly in the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains...

Is there any particular reason that you've 'spent quite a bit of time in Central America and Canada'..? Close proximity, up until the last few years, it was much easier to travel to these areas....not so much now.

Have you been to the Smokies recently? How has it changed from the first time you went, to now? I use to take students every summer, I have not done that in the last few years, just not enough time. It is changing a lot, areas that were my favorite quiet places have grown into tourist attractions. I usually stay in Townsend, Tennessee and eat, have fun in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, I can't stand staying in those towns, unfortunately Townsend that was once known as the "Quiet Side of the Mountain" no longer can say that.....BUT, Cades Cove is still a quiet place and I enjoy hiking the trails there....

LMAO, OOOOPS, sorry....I edited your post instead of quoting it.....oh well, saved a post, and answered the questions...lol

:funny:

I wondered what happened! I was starting to think that I was having a conversation with myself!

OMG, when I first became a mod, I did that AAAAALLLL THE TIME.....drove me AND THE POSTERS NUTS....

OMG, when I first became a mod, I did that AAAAALLLL THE TIME.....drove me AND THE POSTERS NUTS....

I can't really say anything...I think I've done that once or twice as well. :O

How have the boards changed from when you first joined?

For Marx:

How have the boards changed from when you first joined?

Well, for better or worse, not really sure which the rules have tightened...

I think some rules of name calling, go a little overboard, and the seemingly immediate warnings on heated discussions seems to be IMO, stifling some good debate. BUT, the reasons for this tightening is because some cannot seem to have a debate without immediately moving to name calling, and we had a rash of groups following certain posters around and pushing them to the point of classic eruptions (which was their reasons for following the posters around....) sooooooooooooooooo, things were tightened, and probably a little too tight in my opinion.

There was a time where a troll could literally set up camp in certain forums and the mods hands were totally tied....we had 3 in the FF forums, that totally trashed the place....ONE OF THEM, can actually still post here, but he was probably a plant, and therefore once the movies were out, his job was done. But he can actually still post here, and he was a classic troll.

Have you ever looked up at a star and wondered who else might be looking at it?

Have you ever looked up at an airplane and wondered where they're going?

Have you ever stopped at a rest stop near your town and pretended that you were somewhere else?

Why do 24 hour convenience stores have locks on the doors?

Why do drive-thru ATM's have braille writing on them?

Why do banks chain the pens to the counters but leave the safe open?

Why do dogs hate having air blown in their face but love riding in a car with their head sticking out of the window?

For Marx:
Why do 24 hour convenience stores have locks on the doors? Depends on the type of locks, some have release buttons under the counter. If the person working the 2:00 a.m. shift doesn't want to let you in because she doesn't like your looks, she just doesn't open the door.

Why do drive-thru ATM's have braille writing on them? I actually asked my bank this....their answer? Because the government tells us we have to...

Why do banks chain the pens to the counters but leave the safe open?
It's much harder to get INTO safe, its very easy to steal the pen.

Why do dogs hate having air blown in their face but love riding in a car
with their head sticking out of the window? Bad breath...

For Marx:

It reminds me of drive-thru liquor stores...completely unnecessary.

I don't have to buy my beer, I have a friend that works for Budweiser, I get my beer 1 day old....*big smile*

What is your favorite version of Budweiser?

What is your favorite liquor drink?

For Marx:

What is your favorite version of Budweiser?
I don't drink a lot of Bud, I do like the Bud Light Lime, but mostly I drink Michelob Irish Red.

What is your favorite liquor drink?
Hustler's Paradise

Do you eat any food combinations that other people might find odd? (Like macaroni and cheese with ketchup, etc.)
