Any body here who liked the 1986 film Howard the Duck?

personally, I like the movie. It's not perfect by any standards but I really enjoyed it back then when I was a kid. And it was guttsy and edgy in all the right places with sexual innuendos to the point where I wonder how it could get a PG or PG 13 (or whatever it was) rating.
It certainly didn't play it safe like so many movies nowadays and I admire that.

I know people trash this film but as a kid I actually enjoyed the hell out of it. That Dark Overlord possessed guy and even the monster itself which were damn good effects at the time saved the film.

I never knew for the longest time Howard was a Marvel character. I thought it was some goofy crap Lucas made up.

I don't love it, but I don't think it's nearly as awful as people say it is. I think the strangeness of its concepts plus the mediocrity of its execution made it seem much, much worse than it is to mainstream audiences.

For example, I think that if Guardians of the Galaxy had Iron Man 2 level execution, it would've been received as a colossal bomb, rather than a mild disappointment.

When I was a kid, the doctor using his tongue freaked me out something terrible. I always thought the alien at the end was badass.
