I just came up with a concept after Marvel Films blew me away with "Blade 1 & 2", "Spider-Man 1 & 2", "X-Men 1 & 2", "Incredible Hulk", "Punisher' and "Iron Man" that Marvel Studios must make a revamp/reboot "Howard The Duck" movie but this time as a CGI animated feature with no connection to the much maglined but fun 1986 movie as this would stay true to the comics.
I would see Lion's Gate with Dimension and The Kanbar Entertainment group (Who made "Hoodwinked" and "TMNT") as the distributors and Marvel Studios as the real copyright holders. The movie would simply be called "Howard: A Different Kind Of Hero" instead of "Howard The Duck" cause this has absolutely nothing to do with the original movie.
The film would have a better plot like Howard originally came from another dimension in a world where people are birds instead of humans, Howard is just a depressed working duck who just got fired from his job and feels like taking a long vacation to get away from it all and from misery. In the real world which is our dimension, a team of military scientists create a special dimensional portal machine for researching about possible dimensions but as it starts generating, Howard is accidently transported from his bedroom by a mysterious black hole that takes him into our dimension and into the labs. Howard is confused about the weird beings he sees and where he is, so the scientists study him and also educate him about our cultures and stuff. One mean professor named Garko wants to kill him and perform an autopsy, after hearing about it Howard escapes from the labs into the big city of Cleveland where he's on the run and in need of a home. A young woman named Beverly takes him in after he's been roughed by punks, they later become friends and Howard makes tabloid news around the city even about a mysterious talking humanoid duck. Garko whips up a formula to make him into The Man-Frog as he wants to have the city to destroy and only Howard can stop it especially with his learned martial arts.
If "The Incredible Hulk" was a reboot of the 2003 movie, maybe this animated movie could do the same for the 1986 movie. It could be a nice Sci-fi comedy with wit and some Marvel references like mentions of "Spider-Man" and Tony Stark in the newspapers, an animated Stan Lee appearence and an animated cameo by Logan in a cafe. I think Jake Gyhenahall should be Howard's voice, Michelle Trachenberg as Beverly's voice, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine's cameo voice, and Patrick Warburton as Garko/Man-Frog's voice.
