I can't believe how many movies I enjoy came out in 1999

Eyes Wide Shut
American Beauty
Three Kings
Fight Club :yay:
American Pie
10 Things I Hate About You
Sixth Sense
Stir of Echoes (overlooked by the Sixth Sense's popularity)
and yes....Phantom Menace, though hardly my fav of the year

How about you guys?

2014 aint to shabby

Guardians Of The Galaxy
X Men: Days Of Future Past
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Edge of Tomorrow
22 Jump Street
Birdman
Gone Girl
Whiplash
Nightcrawler
John Wick
Fury
Big Hero 6
Interstellar
Selma

I've heard people complain about 2012 being a bad year for movies but, I mean, c'mon -

Django Unchained
Zero Dark Thirty
Looper
The Master
21 Jump Street
Rust and Bone
Seven Psycopaths
Beasts of the Southern Wild
The Hunt
Anna Karenina
A Royal Affair
Moonrise Kingdom
Frances Ha
Dredd
The Cabin in the Woods

The Avengers!

and The Dark Knight Rises, which I honestly believe will be seen as the better movie when the decade is all set and done.

1999 was bull**** it was the year before the world ended with Y2K

i swear none of you kids remember history

I'd say the best year of the 90s is 1995, it's when the 90s that everyone knows and remembers came into being basically. If you think 90s, very strong chances are - it's from 1995 or at least very close to it (94/96). I typically actually group 1999 in more with the 00s after a quick google search probably because it's more my personal switch to middle school.

Braveheart
Se7en
Goldeneye
Toy Story
12 Monkeys
The Usual Suspects
Heat
Jumanji
Apollo 13
Bad Boys
Casino
Pochahontas
Billy Madison
Before Sunrise
Casper

And the above list goes on, but I've found if you think 90s - typically it's either as said surprisingly all clumped together.

The only movie I can remember from 1999 is that Star Wars movie. Did Tarzan come out in 1999 too?

It did.

As a kid, I thought it was a joke. Then in recent documentaries learned the fear had more than just "oh my god, three 00s! World ending!" behind it and was actually legitimate. My neighbor turned off the electricity during a 00 party when it reached midnight surprising everyone. That was a riot, lol.

these are all completely trash except fight club and three kings.

Im sorry to go all salty here,
and there are probably sensitive toes here, but though i do like the Star Wars 'segment', i thoroughly disliked the Phantom Menace. The sixth sense was ok or actually really good IF they actually did effort to hide the incredibly thickly layed on and completely predictable 'plot twist' that the guy was actually dead.

the only good thing from 1999 was the Matrix. how was that not on your list?

it is good and amazing enough - matter of fact, cinematographically legendary and historic enough - to make all of 1999 amazing.

But then there's The World is not enough - James Bond. also really cool. The Green Mile. Entrapment. Wild wild west. Mel Gibson's Payback.

the biggest fail offcourse was inspector gadget. so. much. cringe.
