2 Of Robert Redford's most under-rated films:SPY GAMES & THE LAST CASTLE!

Yeah, its funny since he never said that.

Robert Redford is an incredible actor ,and like Clint Eastford, the films he's done when he's older (now) are just as awesome, or sometimes even better, than his old flicks. I've been surprised at how people were not very receptive towards :Spy Games and The Last Castle.

What part of " the films he's done when he's older (now) are just as awesome, or sometimes even better, than his old flicks" do you not understand? Would you understand it be better if he wrote it in Wookie?

Opinion. He never went on to claim that these movies were better than his older work. Its just that he believes that some of his recent work is as good or better than some of his older movies. Its an opinion, he never tried to convince anyone that what he was saying is true, he stated an opinion. Opinion, do you understand this word?

And, the little Star Wars jokes arent funny, and they just further show your lack of any type of argument.

reggiebar said:
Especially since he can't on this subject, because these two films are not two of Redford's best.
He? Your reffering to me? Well i don't care what you think, your pretty insignificant compared to the ~6,556,773,622 people that live on this planet. My purpose for this thread was to recommend two movie that i liked that imo would make great additions to any dvd collection. I didn't create this thread for it to become a UN summit confernece, where we all discuss which era of Robert Redfords movies past/or present, could cure Cancer, end Famine and bring world peace-which is what your turning it into.

"as good or BETTER" Yes, he claims that Redford's recent work is as good or better than his older films. So, he did make that CLAIM.

The point is, he's not trying to convince everyone to agree with him. God.

However, he did make that CLAIM and he was trying to convince people of his CLAIM. Why else recommend movies to other people?

So people can watch them and make up their own opinions.

It's MY opinion...can't you understand that?!?

and some people can respond that HIS opinion comes from someone with no knowledge of film and certainly no knowledge of Redford's work

Ok, that doesnt change the fact that its his opinion.

it also doesn't chnage that his opinion on this subject is way off base - in fact, it sucks

Thats your opinion.:o

..yes and that is your opinion. The problem is that you seem to be getting irritated when someone disagrees with your opinion.

If i made a post that said, the Best two candy bars in the world are Snicker bars and Butter finger, does that mean i'm trying to force everyone to think the same thing? Of course not it's my opinion! I don't need to back it up with research, and facts and scientific data to why those two candy bars are better, for me, than any other two candy bars...it's an opinion.

No. candy is far different than film

He doesnt have to back up his opinion- exclamation point!

Well he should or it's thread-farting

Then your definition of the word *****ebag is very different from that of everyone elses-try looking in the mirror for the true definition. I would post more, but i have a life outside the internet and judging by your high post count if obvious an a$$wipe like you doesn't. I kinda feel sorry for you, maybe i can send you some company in the form of a blow up doll...that is, if you don't already have one.....:o

I'm asking you to post less, dumbnuts :) Also I been posting here for like 3 1/2 years hence the high post count... Whatever... Last Castle to me was kind of meh... I dig Spy Games though quite a bit but it's a little slow. Plus it's no where near as good as Butch Cassidity and the Sundance kid. Plus the movie being good really doesn't have much to do with Redford, it was really a cookie-cutter role.

Agreed...

Do you people realize how intricate film is? You cna comment on acting, story, cinematrography, editing, special effects, etc... The only excuse would be is if you saw it a while agoa nd don't remember in which case, your case isn't that strong and defiantely not strong enough to make a comment that it's 2 of redford's best.

The two of you apparently haven't the slightest concept on what 'making a point' using another subject, like candy, is do you?:(

I would respond to your needless name calling antics (in which you started) but calling you Dumbnuts in return would be an insult to Dumbnuts across the globe.:o

And btw, i've been posting here 3 years also, but i have a social life hence my moderate post count, but like you said, whatever.....

Yes so you see film is like neurosurgury it's VERY COMPLICATED! You see I did it, I took something completely random and made an extremely vague point!

Oh man that's quite CLEVER! I mean the whole starting off with taking the high road and then VERY SUBTLY I mean so subtle I don't even know how I picked up on it, throw in an insult back, then followed it up with a previous insult... SO CLEVER... not once commenting on the cookie-cutter comment in my post because again movies are like candy and thus have the complexity as such which is none, that's your point am I right, goglo?

How does a person respond to such idiocy?:o

That was pretty much exactly how I felt when I read your first post of this thread.

I love this thread simply because of how much fun they end up being, I love how at the beginning I wasn't anynear on Reggiebar side and then it just became I and Reggiebar on to Darth Sphere how hilarious. But for the most part I agree with Reggiebar just his delievary was a bit harsh of his opinion. I mean ask yourself why do you like Spy Games? I like it cuz I dig Tony Scott slick direction before he went over the deep end with Domino and somewhat with Man on Fire. It really has nothing to do with the acting but more so the script and direction. So when you zoned in on Redford, your not asking which movies are better but his actual performance which again was pretty standard Redford.

For the record. I wasnt defending Golgo's claim, just his right to make that claim without being harassed.

Since the two of you have become so chummy maybe you should get a room together.
