3. Children of Men
4. In Bruges
5. The Lives of Others
6. LOTR Trilogy
7. Pan's Labyrinth
8. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
9. Into the Wild
10. The Incredibles

1. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Revengerces- A brilliant blend of National Lampoon Direct-to-DVD comedy and Michael Bay's *********ory footage of military getting ready for action. Stanley Kubrick could have learn a thing or two.

I appreciate this choice.

10. Shaun of the Dead- The comedy genre is nearly dead for me, especially the spoof films. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places but in a world of the never ending and ever increasing annoying Apatow films Shaun of the Dead stands out as my favorite comedy of the decade.

9. Brick- Rian Johnson's debut perfectly captures the spirit of film noir and puts it in the unique setting of a high school.

8. The Incredibles- The best superhero film, period. The Dark Knight is a great crime movie and along with other comic movies they lack all the quirks and unbridled imagination they can be produce within the superhero medium.

7. Kill Bill- Tarantino throws kung-fu, spaghetti western, and grindhouse films all into a blender and somehow makes it work. He takes all these wild ideas and is able to tell a epic and exciting tale of revenge.

6. The Wrestler- Remember when your parents told you there was no Santa. That's kind of the feeling I had when I watch Beyond the Mat as a kid. Aronofsky presents the dirty world of wrestling with one of the best performance of the decade. Mickey Rourke as Randy "the Ram" Robinson is painful, sad, and compelling as he struggles to hold his life together.

5. The Man Who Wasn't There- What a great title for a movie. This is probably the Coen Brothers best looking film. The black and white create a surreal and almost dreamlike world. Like Brick it adds a unique twist on the film noir. Focusing on the very mundane and to drive the story about a barber who gets wrap up in blackmail, dry cleaning, and UFO paranoia.

4. Adaptation- Whenever Spike Jonze makes a film it's going to be an original and very unqiue outgoing. Adaptation has, I think, Nicholas Cage's best performace as the neroutic Charlie and his twin brother Donald.

3. No Country for Old Men- Seriously, they became some of my favorite film makers of all time. The entire decade is filled with some great films from these two. No Country is their most powerful and mature one.

2. There Will Be Blood- Daniel Day-Lewis gives the best performance of the decade in my opinion and personally one of my favorite performances of all time. I think Carmine Falcone summed it up perfectly for me.

1. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Revengerces- A brilliant blend of National Lampoon Direct-to-DVD comedy and Michael Bay's *********ory footage of military getting ready for action. Stanley Kubrick could have learn a thing or two.

The Real 1. Mulholland Dr.- My favorite Lynch film and in my top five films of all time. Lynch here proves why he is true masters of cinema.

Honorable mentions- The Dark Knight, O' Brother Where Art Thou, Magnolia, The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, countless others that I haven't watched yet.

Good ****ing list dude. It reminds me how many films I forgot. And how many more films I need to rewatch. I've only seen Mulholland Drive once.

Hunger, Dogville, The Prestige, Children of Men, The Darjeeling Limited, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Encounters at the End of the World, Hot Fuzz, The Departed, The Aviator, Adaptation, Kill Bill Vol.2, Snatch.....

Just me or was 2007 the year of the decade for film?

My top 10.

1. City of God - The best low level gang movie since Mean Streets. Filmed and edited with amazing verve and energy.
2. Mulholland Dr. - David Lynch's spellbinding nightmare in the city of dreams. No movie pulled the rug out from under the audience better.
3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Romantic, thoughtful, and eccentric in equal measures. It's a one of a kind film.
4. Downfall - Portrait of a dead ender and his followers. Bruno Ganz is a terrific Hitler and walks the line of showing his madness without falling into cartoonishness.
5. No Country for Old Men - The Coen Bros. bleak, visceral look at corruption, death, and inescapable fate winding its way into America in the 80s.
6. American Splendor - No other comic book adaptation caught the voice of its author like this movie. Delightfully meta with Harvey Pekar himself commenting on the goings on. With the subtle theme of the power of art and expression bringing direction, meaning, and in its own way, although the author may deny it, happiness to Harvey Pekar's life.
7. Memento - Christopher Nolan breaks through into the big time by breaking down the structure of a story into reverse.
8. Grizzly Man - Somewhere between Werner Herzog's pessimism and Timothy Treadwell's tragic optimisim lies the truth between man, his view of himself, and his relationship with nature.
9. The Incredibles - The best of Pixar IMO. A movie that stands up for excellence. And a great, lush, superhero adventure.
10. Lord of the Rings (If I have to pick one I'll go with Fellowship) - The epic of the decade.

Other Notables, in no specific order:

Most of this year's best, by reputation

A lot of good lists. I'm surprised The Pledge doesn't get more love. I don't think I've seen it anywhere. Is it possible that it isn't as good as I think ? :P

1. Gladiator. Crowe's stunning performance, along with great direction and a world class score. The end "nearly" made me cry. I never cry at movies and don't "nearly" very often either. ( E.T is the only other I can think of )

2. No Country For Old Men. Still gives me chills, Anton has to be the badest of all the bad guys. Fantastic pacing.

3. The 40 Year Old Virgin. I can watch this for the 50th time and still enjoy it. The best comedy for me in the noughties ( Anchorman runs it close )

4. The Dark Knight. Epic, expectation were sky high and it still didn't disappoint me. Near perfection for a comic book move.

5. LOTR Trilogy. Outstanding trilogy. All three movies extremely strong. Can Indiana Jones, Star Wars or Back to the Future claim the same? All time classics.

6. Casino Royale. The bond film I had been waiting on. Great performance from Daniel. Great kick start 007 needed ( let down with Quantum though )

7. Master and Commander. Great movie, love Paul and Russell's performances and the overall feel of the movie.

8. The Illusionist. Love this movie, great performances and score.

9. The Incredibles. Never really watch cartoons, or pixar movies, but this on is the exception. Best of its genre ( animation ).

10. Avatar. Yes its not perfect and it has flaws, however as a cinematic experience, second to none. ( I go to the cinema for the experience ).

Others very close were-

Batman Begins, Moon, Anchorman, District 9, Collateral, Mulholland Dr, The Prestige, The Departed, i,Robot, Seabiscuit.

1. The Lord of the Rings (Trilogy) - a landmark cinematic achievement, three pure masterpieces.

2. The Dark Knight - transcends the superhero genre, Ledger was flawless.

3. Casino Royale - the best Bond film ever made; also emotionally resonant and suspenseful, two terrific set piece action sequences.
