People have been saying that he would be since he has been in the league, the question was never he was good or not (okay well sometimes) the big question as of late has been, can he get into condition for a 48 minute NBA game and still be physically strong enough to last s full season.

This era has no real centers. Like Shaq said, he is the last of the era. Yao isn't nearly as dominant as he should be; not agressive enough. Wallace is really the only other guy worth mentioning. The rest of these guys are glorified power forwards.

I remember when 'Best Center in the NBA' meant something...Shaq, Ewing, Olajuwon, Robinson, Mourning.

For Yao I say it's still just a tad bit too early to really say he won't become a great center. Yes this is his fourth season but he is still young, in two or three years if he is still playing like this then I will be ready to give up all hope on him.
