That baffles me too. Why not just trade the guy for someone else?

Mister J said:I'll be damned. I do remember that now.
Still, his progress has been slow. His fundamentally sound, but he's missing some of the nuances and subtleties of the game. I 'm starting to give that whole "He plays ball year round" argument a little more credence.
BAH HUMBBUG! said:No, they brought him in as a coach, PE has been retired for some time now.

Mister J said:He getting a raw deal. I think the guy's definately being exploited by his home country. Doesn't appear that's there much that can be done. I'm surprised he hasn't been injured more often. I think before this injury he just got over, he had never missed a game. This could go bad.
Stringer said:Man that Rockets got that ass spanked tonight, geez.
Alpha and Omega said:You're right J. Shaq was the last true center, and the position is almost non-existent now. The most dominant position in the league right now is probably the 4.

I think the rockets are just too inconsistent to make the playoffs this yearStringer said:Man that Rockets got that ass spanked tonight, geez.

BAH HUMBBUG! said:Well don't give up on Yao just yet and Bogut is only a rookie, you never know what he will develop into.
Mister J said:The Daddy rules and he's gonna bring it home this year! (Yes, I'm biased)
There are a lotta good 4 guys though. Most of them are versatile enough to take it out on the perimeter and kill you there too. You figure it be'd easier for a center to be effective down low with that kinda trend in the League, but apparently not. After the guys we've talked about who are you left with, Erick Dampier, Jason Collins, Joel 'Prybzilla', Brian Scalabrine...![]()

Indeed, they dug themselves into too deep of a hole to be this inconsistent at this time.NOFX said:I think the rockets are just too inconsistent to make the playoffs this year![]()
no one said he was dominant.Alpha and Omega said:Dikembe carrys lions, tigers, and leopards on his back and he battled the mighty Oneal in 01, but was defeated.![]()
Now he just plays second string. . . but a long time ago. . . he was much more.![]()

Riddler, your knowledge of basketball's center position is sorely lacking if you think that Yao is dominant, currently the best, and a success.
I've seen JEROME JAMES handle Yao.JJ is garbage. . .or not.
amare hasn't played. by the best center TODAY, i mean someone who's actually playing...currently.Mister J said:If with talking best, then I'm going with the guys with the pedigree. Again, Shaq, Wallace and Amare (oh, but he's injured, so he doesn't exist).
This may be the first time that I've ever heard somebody call Yao the best. A large portion of the basketball community has another opinion.
No, Shaq isn't as dominating as he's been in the past. And some of that crap that "analysts" feed me has been more than cognizant of that fact. Despite all that, everytime the subject comes up, I still hear a slew of names (starting with Shaq and his 'diminished' abilities) before Yao's.
if you've watched the games, amare has been frustrated by yao.BAH HUMBBUG! said:Not to mention Yao is his BIATCH!!! This kid dunks on Yao like it is a natural reflex![]()
