2010 Emmy Awards - Nomination Domination

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Big Bang, Modern Family, and The Good Wife!

I'm really surprised that Ed O'Neill didn't get nominated though.

I don't care if you are a mod, you can burn in hell for liking that piece of **** show:yay:

we talked last year about the favor system the Emmys works on, and this year is just business as usual

of course the USA shows are going to get snubbed, its not like NBC/Universal is going to raise a fuss because the Emmy broadcast is on their network and their big horses (The Office, 30 Rock) are going to get their trophies

and now there is going to be a backlash against the cable shows because the network shows are going to try making a comeback this fall

True. None the less, its sad that there is so little real quality in this year's nominations. :(

 I've been unable to make it through more than half an episode, and I like Chris Noth. He deserves better. :(

It seems to me like it was nominated based on it's hype, not it's quality.

So, will NBC allow any of Conan's people to attend the show?

Loving all the nominations for Curb and LOST.

And I could care less about the rest of Glee's nominations, but Jane Lynch better ****ing win for best supporting actress in a comedy. :o:up: I couldn't believe when she got snubbed by that butterface from that polygamy show at the Golden Globes.

indeed...he only ended up on that show because he wanted a raise for Law and Order and NBC was being stingy....Det. Mike Logan is still my favorite L&O character

I doubt it, they won't outright refuse them but I doubt they are getting official invites

I don't think they'll have a choice. Its going to be a real embarrassment for them when Conan inevitably wins. Normally it would be Jon Stewart, but this year, its Conan's. Aside from the amazing quality of his final week few weeks, he's going to win based on sympathy alone. All of Hollywood seems to think he got screwed over, and they're the voters after all. I can't wait to see what Conan does with his speech or if NBC tries to cut him short or anything.

I'm a little (did I say "a little"? Because I mean alot) disappointed that none of the cast of Seinfeld are nominated for Outstanding Guest for their work on Curb last season. Jerry's interaction with Larry was one of my favorite aspects of the season.

I could actually see Conan's "representative" at the Emmy Awards being Will Ferrell in some disguise since Will is a huge Conan supporter.

I somehow think NBC will go unethical and bribe the voters into picking someone other than Conan to win.

Has anyone else noticed the two most unforgivable snubs of the year?

Guest Actor in a Comedy Series
Mike O'Malley, Glee
Neil Patrick Harris, Glee
Fred Willard, Modern Family
Eli Wallach, Nurse Jackie
Jon Hamm, 30 Rock
Will Arnett, 30 Rock

Where the hell are Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander for Curb Your Enthusiam? We had a frickin Seinfeld reunion and they snubbed Jerry and George?!? Mike O'Malley got a nomination, but Jerry ****ing Seinfeld didn't. Really?

It'd be great to see Conan win too.

This is what i'm saying.

that episode wasn't all that good though... I like Curb and I felt a little empty at the end of that

My thoughts exactly. Mike O'Malley got an Emmy nomination and Jerry got nothing same with Alexander. Hell, Richards deserves it simply for being a good enough sport to poke fun at his personal problems.

Really? I loved it. Alexander running naked from the trailer was awesome. I think Seinfeld deserved a nomination, and Alexander the win. Jason Alexander's self-depracative cameoes on Curb are amazing and to see him in a major role this year was hillarious. He was beyond good.

Why is it that USA shows always get snubbed save for Monk. Does USA not campaign for them?

Alexander, I could get past. But Seinfeld was definitely screwed here. Seeing him interact with Larry this season made me wish he had been a regular character from the start of the series. Same with Jeff (who, as far as I'm concerned, should've been nominated for supporting actor in a comedy), Jerry is one of the few characters who just gets Larry.

Does anybody care about the Emmy's anymore? most of these shows are critic favorites, not average joe favorites.

Too bad that the guest actors will be announced at the Technical Awards. Would have loved to have heard Betty White's speech. It would have been funny, but at the same time, heartfelt.

I'm hoping for Itzen or Cumming to win.

Not gonna happen. Itzin deserves it. Unfortunately, the Academy, in their desperate need to ******e Lost, stuck Lithgow in Guest Star, which guarantees he'll win that. He should've won Best Supporting with Itzin winning Guest Star...but alas, the Emmys screw Itzin again :(

Glee has way too many nomintions it doesn't deserve. A nominee in each major category AND nominated for Best Comedy? Really? The show is not nearly that good. Jane Lynch's nomination is the only one that should stay.

Lea Michele's nomination should have really gone to Courtney Cox for Cougar Town, or Modern Family should have submitted Julie Bowen or Sofia Vergara as Lead Actress.

Male comedy, I really don't care but Matthew Morrison or Chris Colfer certainly shouldn't be there.

For their Best Comedy nomination, it really should have gone to "United States of Tara" or "Always Sunny"

Very good question.

Alexander was amazing, IMO. Made the season. Another shocking snub is that two 30 Rock actors got Guest Star nominations but neither was Michael Sheen who was the highlight of the season. He deserves it more than anyone. Especially more than John Hamm (who while hillarious on 30 Rock, was only on one episode for five minutes), or Mike O'Malley.

Poor Lithgow. He was truly amazing. He should be in supporting actor and get the recognition he deserves.

He was great, I just liked Jerry's work this season so much more. I mean, perfect world? They both would be nominated. But if I was forced to choose one or the other, I'd go with Seinfeld.
