So 2011 is just about coming to a close so I was wondering how everyone would rate this year for yourself. Was this the year that you finally did something that you've always wanted, or was it a year full of disappointment? Was there any major social or political event that impacted you greatly? Did the year go by fast or did time really drag on? Did you find true love or did you feel like you were destined to be forever alone? How would you describe this year in your life?
Personally, 2011 was a mixed bag. I started off the year very depressed and isolated from others, but then I got an art internship and really got some valuable experience out of it. But after the semester end and my favorite show, Smallville, finally ended and school ended, I locked myself up all summer to focus on my art, which turned out to not be a great idea because it was time lost with others. But as bad as everything seemed during the first 9 months, it quickly turned around. I drank alcohol for the first time at my brother's wedding and danced to Billie Jean in the center of the dance floor. I also went to NYCC and met Greg Miller from IGN and I learned to enjoy myself on my own while I was doing a lot of photography there that weekend. And most importantly, I took an acting class that really helped me become more confident with myself and it has lead to me being cast in a school play where I now I have a strong desire to do more with theater. Things have definitely picked up during these past few months, and now that I'm done with college and ready to move on to the real world, I can finally say for the time in my life that I am happy with myself and my life and wouldn't trade it for anything else.
Overall I'd give it a 7/10 because what started off as a slow year with no hope turned out to be one of my best years yet and with the way things have ended, I can't wait to see what's in store for 2012.
