Best Year of the 21st Century...So Far

Between 2000 and now (2006); what year was the best, or the most favorite, for you?

For me it was 2001 (minus 9/11). I graduated from high school, had a good job and money in my pocket, brought a PS2 and GTA III came out that year.

2001 sucked. 2002 i can't remember. 2003 sucked worst then 2001. 2004 was just boring and sucked, but less than 2001. 2005 sucked so hard, it was my worst year ever. 2006 was better. I'll say 2003 because i discovered degrassi.

Are our choices meant to be based on best in terms of pop culture or personal events? I based it more on personal events. With the exception of a few things (Scarlett Johansson and my favorite movie, Almost Famous), I haven't been greatly impressed with pop culture at all this entire 21st century.

I should probably add 2004 to my list, because I received Confirmation, and I had a big party and remember feeling very proud of myself. On the other hand, my grandmother died that year, so that really put a damper on '04.

2002 was a good year for me, but halfway through it, everything became rather dull. 2003 had some more-than-decent moments. 2004 seems better when I reminisce on it. And, well, 2005 was actually kinda... disappointing. As for 2006, it's almost over and 2005 was more enjoyable. I'll go with 2002 and 2004 for right now.

none, movies are all remakes or rehashes, music sucks today, we live in a world where many people make a good living being famous simply for who they're shagging or some have managed to be famous simply for being in magazines about "famous" people. It's a self perpetuating cycle of ****e and the world's coming down. WE ARE AT THE END OF DAYS!!
