Free agency, coaching changes, and summer leagues oh my

you can't be a fan of any top tier player or team in the NBA without being called bandwagon. Just comes with the nature of the sport for some reason. That guy probably didn't know much about basketball himself.

I'm sure he didn't. Growing up I had a Garnett T-Wolves jersey and a Ray Allen Sonics jersey to imagine my delight when those two teamed up in Boston. And my even bigger delight when Jesus Shuttlesworth ended up with the Heat. It's just funny to me that NBA fans throw out the bandwagon label when the association is such a player driven league. Like I would understand if someone started buying Seahawks jerseys in Miami.

I'm surprised the guy even said something like that. Talking smack to a complete stranger is a sure fire way to get decked in the mouth.

He said it under his breath but I've been blessed with great hearing.

Meh, the "player driven" aspect is exactly what I hate about the NBA. People are fans of players, and then just follow them around to whatever team they go to. Nobody is a fan of the team.

Sorry, I don't care where Shaq, Penny, T-Mac, or Dwight Howard go. I'm a Magic fan.

It's unfortunate because of how poorly the Magic organization has been most years but it's admirable.

I'm a Knicks fan for life. I've got great memories of following that team when I was a kid and bailing on them just because an idiot bought the team just seems like taking the cheap way out. I'll just have to deal with it and hope it changes one day.

How terrible for you.

The struggle is real. Especially in this post-Dwight era. This is easily the toughest it's ever been for me as a fan. Even pre-Dwight wasn't this bad.

But Tobias Harris went OFF last night. That's always fun.

I don't think they've been run terribly poorly. Granted, they are anything but a marquee franchise in the league. But they are usually some sort of relevant. Post-season bound more often than not, lots of superstars, and 2 Finals appearances. It's not the greatest of histories, but it's better than a lot of teams that have been around longer.

Orlando could have been one of the most dominant teams in the early 00's. They were able to nab 2 of the 3 top free agents at the time but Grant Hill and those unfortunate injuries....ugh.

said it before and i'll say it again. Stern did alot to expand the value of the league but he dropped the ball by letting 3rd parties do the showcasing. Look at what the NFL has done with The NFL uses NFL films and the NBA uses Nike

Seems like everyone is trying to outdo each other and post a better #. First KD dropped 54, then Melo went off for 62, and now Terrence Ross put up 51 (in a loss though). Who's next? I say Kevin Love drops 50 in a game or 2.

I could see that happening, either him or Paul George for that matter.

STOP THE PRESSES EVERYONE!!!! MEDIA OUTLETS ARE REPORTING THAT LEBRON JAMES WOULD LIKE TO SCORE 60 POINTS IN A GAME!

:wow:  :wow:

Clearly he is the only player who would like to do this! Such important news!

In other news, the sports media has jumped the shark.

I'm shocked!! :wow:

Seriously, the media's love affair with this guy is his worst enemy. Every time he has to choose between ketchup and Mayo, it's on the front page of ESPN and it's overkill. That's one of the reasons people can't stand him. That and his "Lebroning"................it can't be cool to have a term named after you like that. :funny:

As a Heat fan, it bothers me that he seems really focused on personal milestones this season. This paired with his obsession with KD is not good.

I think the problem is, Heat are no longer the best and neither is LeBron (at least not this year) and he doesn't like it. KD has better stats this year. IMO, he deserves to be MVP (whether the sports media will overcome their love for LeBron and name the more deserving KD as MVP has to be seen, but KD deserves it). Beyond that, Heat aren't the best team in the league or even the East this year. I think what we are seeing is LeBron trying to show that he is still the king.

I think what LeBron has been doing this year has been pretty remarkable. His shooting percentages are awesome.

Anyone see ABC's good ball error? During late 1st quarter of Lakers/Knicks game, they said it was 12-16 Knicks over Lakers....but the graphic showed 12 for Lakers....16 for Spurs lol.

:cmad: STOP DRINKING ABC.

I was shocked to see Steph is only shooting 38% from three this year...that's an above average number, but not what you'd think of when you look up Curry's stats.

Matt has never heard the word coasting before apparently.
