True Detective is laying in the bed HBO made for it. There's no reason it shouldn't have been categorized as a miniseries. Aside from that being where it belonged, it would've been very successful there, I think.

I can somewhat agree with that. But it's the Emmy's own fault though for not telling HBO that it doesn't fit the criteria when it was submitted.
