2023 Hype Award Winners

This will go down in history as the worst hype awards hosting job ever, and I cannot apologize enough.

i've mentioned my health issues enough times to where i'm sure no one else wants to hear it and i thought i was doing better but the joke was on me. now, almost a month later since my last emergency visit, and we'll see.

i don't want to risk putting this off any further, so i am going to post the award winners in this thread. i apologize for the lack of pomp and circumstance, but pretend it's like all the awards the Grammys give away off-camera
Oh hush puppy.....it's all good. We think you're awesome.

Also, I actually nominated you for Sports Poster, but you didn't even add yourself. What up with you?

First off, I know getting this thing together can be time consuming and not as easy as it looks. Especially when life has other plans, so props to CC for running this thing and best wishes with the health issues. The Hype can wait while you do everything you gotta do to ensure you will still be with us in another 20 or 30 years!

Also thanks to everyone who won and participated. I am once again honored to have won both Co-Marvel Poster and Smartest Poster! Yall are awesome and here is to another year of fun and bickering about whether or not the MCU is dying and if Superman can come down and save us from stagnation! Though, let's be real....this year belongs to Venom :o :venom:

Movies Poster of the Year

It's a tie! :eek:

@Kane52630 and @Luigi

So, if it's not too much trouble, we would like 3D awards and respectfully request this award in perpetuity.

I mean, hey.....it's only fair.

Best to @ComicChick .....she's the real deal.
Here’s hoping that @ComicChick can have successful rehab on all of her health issues so that she and I can take our fantasy football trash talking to another level this year and dethrone you and @MissMarvelous.

And to ComicChick, never forget that you are in good company of people who’ve had spine injuries. And I don’t just mean me:

Yeah, whatever she's going through, I hope she recovers quickly. :csad:

Don't even think about apologizing, CC. We appreciate everything you do here and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

I don't know about whether this puts her in good company or not, but I had some lower back problems many years ago. Typical L4/5 and L5/S1 protrusion and bulge. I managed to get through it without surgery as I had an orthopedic surgeon who didn't like surgery. PT and ab strengthening (along with one injection) got me through until some shrinkage happened. The fact that I've never been overweight was also a big help. I know I sound like a broken record, but pool therapy is really good. Chest high and walk forward and backwards for 20 minutes a day. It helps strengthen the muscles while not putting downwards pressure on your back and joints.

Anyway, you can't NOT root for @ComicChick. Love you girl.

the ballots were narrowed down to the posters with the most nominees, otherwise some categories would have dozens

Most Improved Poster

@Venom 1988
I'll be honest the awards is something I ever paid attention to so to see I got nominated for multiple catagories after 20 years was a bit surprising lol. But nevertheless I really do appreciate this. I do really enjoy coming to this site all these years later as this is probably one of the few places I get to talk geek stuff. Thank you for this community for being awesome and to those who think I'm worth a dang lol.

Also again, shout out for @ComicChick for putting this together!

@InCali we did it!!! Thank you for putting up with me:D
"Me"??? "Putting up with you"???

I was simply a hanger on. You are the diesel fuel that drives the 18 wheeler. The grease in the hinge that silences the squeaks. The veritable immovable force against the irresistible object (I'll be the latter if you don't mind).

All is right in the jungle

I also would like to thank @ComicChick for putting this together for us all to enjoy, especially during such difficult circumstances :csad: I wish you a full and speedy recovery soon...

Secondly, a big heartfelt congratulations to all my fellow winners. Some of my favourite Hypesters are among the winners this year and it makes me a bit misty to see several members I personally nominated and voted for on the winners list. Ya'll deserve the kudos!

Lastly, thank you so much for everyone who voted for me in these two categories. Part of me can't believe I've been posting here for two-and-a-half years now! I was initially drawn to The Hype because I wanted to find a place to discuss the things I love with other fans, and I continue to come here because some of the most amazing people I've encountered online frequent this site. As long as those folks continue to post here, so will I!

Thanks again to all my incredible friends here and to all the folks who went out of their way to make me feel welcome and included when I first joined The Hype. You will always have my sincerest love and gratitude :hrt:
