2nd Wii Remote issue

My wife has the wii and she bought the Price is Right for it. We go to play it Saturday night and no matter what it wouldn't recognize the 2nd controller. If I go to the menu screen, I can get both remotes to work. I have them both on and go back into the game and select a 2 player game and the 2nd remote shuts off. I've tried syncing it both ways and it will sync up, but as soon as we go into the game it shuts down again. The battery power is fine. Has anyone else run into this issue before? If you did how did you fix it? It's really annoying. Thanks.

Sorry, it never happened to me before. It might've something to do with the sync, or maybe the remote is defective. Maybe you can call Nintendo for assistance, or return the remote if you can.
