I just read that before Batman & Robin was made, George Clooney signed up to do 3 films!? Meaning 4 Schumacher films (if you include Forever)!!!

Good thing they stopped before they completely killed Batman!!!!

Actually, his 3rd Film would have been pretty cool..
I would have seen it.

The Joker would have came back

Just because Clooney signed up for three films doesn't mean Schumacher was signed up as well. In fact, I have a feeling that if Batman & Robin would have been successful, Schumacher would have left. Just watch B&R and you realize Schumacher didn't have much more to say about the character. He probably wouldn't have felt the need to return. Even if they offered him good cash.

we know he was supposed to make "Batman: Triumphant" but thats all I've heard..

You missed the point of my post. When B&R was hated by everyone and their grandmother, Schumacher felt bad and wanted to redeem himself so he talked to WB about returning and fixing things. HOWEVER, if B&R would have ONLY pissed off the comic fans and the movie would have made some good money I have a feeling he would have left the franchise. The man had nothing else to contribute and you can tell when you watch the movie.

Actually, the villains were going to be The Scarecrow and Harley Quinn; with Harley being Joker's daughter instead of his girlfriend.

Batman Triumphant was the original name of Batman & Robin, not the name of the fifth movie.

I think this is true too, Schumacher said in an interiew that he took the call asking him to do B&R while on the set of 'A time to Kill' and said to his producer somethinmg like, 'Oh no, I knew it, they want me to do another one.' He really didn't want to do it.

Yeah, but the I think what Noir menat was that the Joker was supposed to come back as a hallucination from the Scarecrow's fear gas.

As for the title 'Batman Triumphant', I've heard that was the scrapped title for B&R that was chnaged as it 'gave away the ending' but have also read that it was the proposed title for the 5th Batman movie. Don't know which is true, maybe they both are somehow.

He might have done it for the money and get ideas from some writers. That's what they are for as well as other departments. However I'm saying that generally as I don't know Schumacher nor do I hate him (I still didn't like "Batman & Robin" but - I do like - plus was and am entertained by "Batman Forever").

WHOA! To think now Schumacher will never be able to ruin the Joker. :csad:

Im glad he never returned, even if he did do a serious take on the characters, if your going to do something right do it first, not after you know youve ruined things and try to make up for it!

Here's the facts, Batman Triumphant was the original name for B+R, however after that movie the WB suits moved the name onto the fifth movie. This film was going to be darker, with Dick and Barbara shipped off to college and Batman being on his own again. The villians were indeed Scarecrow (Rumoured to be Jeff Goldblum) and Harley Quinn (Rumoured to be Madonna) with a cameo appearance from The Joker whilst Batman was under the influence of fear gas.

The script exists, but it's locked deep inside a WB vault with very few people ever having seen it.

Schumacher wanted to do it straight after B+R, wanting to redeem himself with a darker Batman. Hoever due to poor box office reception to B+R, WB pulled the plug.

Schumacher later came back with the idea of a Y1 film, an idea he'd mooted before he did BF. WB took the idea and shipped it around Hollywood, most notably landing it with Frank Miller and Darren Aranofsky. There script can be read on most internet script sites.

That's the real deal.

And the only thing I can't source is the Madonna rumour. I read that in a British TV magazine just after B+R and it's always stuck with me.

I'm glad that crap didn't happen. Jeff Goldblum as Scarecrow would been interesting.

I dont think Goldblum couldve really pulled off the "creepy Crane character we all know and love. Especially with his voice, he basically plays himself in most films hes in.

3 more films? Yuck. A cameo appearance by the Joker? A CAMEO? Thank god this never happened.

I agree that Goldblum would have rocked as Scarecrow, whenever I see a manip of him in the costume it looks awsome.

Joker flashback would have been meh. They could have made it work IMO, but then again it could just as likely suck.

And no worries guys, just thought i'd put out all the facts!

We actually had a thread up awhile ago listing all the actual rumors for the 5th bat film. I even had up a couple of the articles I have concerning it. Too bad old threads get deleted.

I would've loved to have seen that thread.
