This thread is for rescues that looked really cool, whether it was because of the difficulty or the stylishness. And yes, this is partly because some people keep insisting on slipping rescues into the "superpowered fights" thread.
Here's mine:
1. Spider-Man & the runaway train (Spider-Man 2)
2. Nightcrawler & Rogue (X2)
3. Spider-Man, Mary Jane & the tram (Spider-Man)
4. Bruce Wayne & "Ducard" (Batman Begins)
5. Superman, Lois & the helicopter (Superman)

Would the Wolverine saving Bobby from getting stun in the mansion scene be a Super Save? And another one would be Colossus saving Syren in X2.

Did one remove the other from a potentially life-threatening situation?

The Spidey 2 train save scene - and the aftermath ("We found something") - is embarassing. Raimi has no sense of taste or subtlety.

1- Jean saving the x-jet from the dam breaking, X2
2- Superman saves the plane, SR
3- Superman Lois and the helicopter, Superman
4- Spiderman saving the kid and MJ, Spiderman
and erm, ah yes
5- Kid matt murdock saving stan lee from getting run over, Daredevil. What would we do without stan?!?

1. The train on SM2.
2. The heliochopter in S'78
3. The plane in SR
4. Vicky Vale in the museum in B'89
5. Logan saving Rogue through sacrifice and cutting at the climax of X1.

Done.

BTW Kev. I knowo you have a love for Donner's film (and a somewhat misplaced IMO disslike for Raimi) so what did you think of Singer's Superman, then?

Glad to see I'm not the only one who found that line annoying.

Agreed

1) Superman's Helicopter rescue
2) Blade's rescue of bloodrave victim
3) Nightcrawler's mid-air rescue of Rogue
4) Batman's rescue of Vicki Vale at museum
5) Kitty's rescue of Leech from Juggernaut

Naruto saving Sasuke from Gaara.
"Boom."

Oh please don't say you put Kitty's rescue in the top 5?!

Over the plane in SR, the train in SM2, Rogue in X1 and many others like Bobby from the soldier in X2? Or the plane in X2 by Jean Grey? I'm sorry but any scene that features a "serious" Juggernaut saying "Do you know who I am?! I'm the Juggernaut *****!" and then her calling him a "********" before he knocks himself out on a ****ING WALL!!

I respect your opinion but that was a terrible scene in my opinion and even if you dislike the train in SM2, there were at least 3 better rescues in the X-Men series and the plane in SR as many others in other franchises too though.

ok, so Kitty made the list because I have a crush on Ellen Page. :o

Then why didn't you pick when she saved Bobby in the Danger Room?

Haven't seen Returns yet - opens next week in England. Can't wait to see it!

I don't dislike Raimi, I don't love him either. He does some things very well and some things very poorly. What I don't like is the B-Movie sensibility he's given the Spider-Man franchise.

The Wolverine/Rogue was probably the most emotional rescue in your list. Letting us think for a minute that he'd failed, putting his life truly on the line to save hers-that was epic.

Yeah, I'm surprised I am the only one who listed it, that was such an emotional moment and the last 10 or 15 minutes of that movie to me are every bit as epic as the sequels (moreso than X3, because in X1 you gave a dman about these characters) and you can tell that is where all the budget went and a lot of heart.

Just a great scene that is excelled by Kaman's underrated and excellent score (from the riveting ball of energy and rising music as Ellis Island is about ot be engulfed, to the tender theme of loss between Logan and Rogue).

A very good scene, in my opinion.

1. Spider-Man 2 - The train scene
2. Superman Returns - Plane rescue
3. X-Men 2 - Nightcrawler teleporting out of the X-Jet
4. Blade - The opening scene
5. Spider-Man - Queensboro Bridge

No specific order
1. Spiderman and the tram
2. Supes and the helicopter
3. Torch changing the direction of the rocket.
4. Batman racing Rachel to the cave
5. the Incredible adults helping the Incredible kids in the forest against the flying machines.

Random order-OTTOMH
Superman and the Airplane-SR
Superman Catching the Dialy Planet Momument-SR
Neo Flying to Catch trinity-Matrix Reloaded
Spider-man 2 Train scene
Spider-man 1 saving kids and Mary Jane
Spider-man 1 saving little kid from huge Ballon Float
Spider-man 1 Mary Jane Rescue fallin from Building
Batman Begins saving rachel..and Leaving the train with Rah on it!!(Cool)

I know but i thought It was cool...It reminded me of something in the PS2 game God of war...

Blade's opening wasn't really a rescue.

Heh, oh c'mon, it's close.... ;)

Well in that case, replace it with Spidey rescuing that crowd from the car in Spider-Man 2. I'm thinking of that scene where the cars flying through the air about to hit a crowd of people....then the camera silently pans up to see it trapped in webs. I just love the way the shot there is filmed.

alphabetical by movie

Batman -- saving Vicki Vale in the museum
Batman Begins -- racing Rachel to the batcave
Superman -- Saving Lois from the helicopter
Superman Returns -- saving Lois in the plane
Superman Returns -- saving the world

I'd also put saving Lois from the earthquake in Superman up there, because I love that scream before he gets the idea (Reeve will ALWAYS be Superman). It's just the idea itself that kills me. Flying around the world is just stupid as hell.
