You're getting 5 games for 2 bucks each. You'd be crazy to pass it up$9.99 for the whole package? Damn...is it worth it, guys? I'm on the edge here...

Makes sense. Thanks.HL2: Lost Coast only loads the Lost Coast level. Valve made each of them so they could stand alone. HL2, Lost Coast, Episode 1, and Episode 2 can all be played separately from each other, so you have to load whichever game you want to play directly.
Yeah, that's my next stop. It's just so...weird. I put it in Window mode to see if I could glimpse any background processes interfering, but I couldn't see any.Hmm. I have no idea, to be honest. I've never encountered any problems with the Source games. Try searching the Steam forums or FAQs. HL2's been out for long enough that pretty much every problem has probably been seen, diagnosed, and fixed at this point.
I had to enter a launch command that runs it on DirectX 7 or 8 instead of 9. It works until I set it to very high screen resolution, at which time my computer restarts itself again.Good luck. I'm about 3 levels into HL2 now (only my second time, even though I've had it since launch).
I suppose this is my next step. I'm running out of options!Strange, they all use the same engine.
Try changing the sound settings and/or updating sound card drivers. it could be the sound device.
Did that a while ago.You could also have had a problem downloading the game content, try right clicking the games properties, verifying it and defraging it. I would be surprised if it's the game itself, source games are pretty stable and halflife 2 has had constant patching support through the years.
