8 Months Later...

I don't realy see the point of this reboot, it's kind of making things more complicated, if they wanted to reboot their entire universe, they should have just gone back to the basics of the characters, instead of creating so many versions of them.
Its not even a reboot bc the regular 616 characters still exist as does their history and continuity. All the AR displaced characters do is bring their own history, continuity and baggage along, making it unnecessarily complicated. A real reboot would have kept the MU destroyed and created a new one with brand new characters based off the originals. Kind of like what if the Ultimate line became the only universe back in 2000 when it was launched

So every Spider-Person lives in one world?
Picturing scenarios will be fun.

I see no evidence that there's a reboot of any kind.

Reading this thread from the beginning is kind of a funny experience since we had people c laiming they were killing off and cancelling all the X-Men.

Logan drowned him in a puddle in Uncanny X-Force.

He came back in Uncanny X-Force. I think they were asking what happened to him since he isn't mentioned in the solicits. I don't think anything did though since there's still a lot of characters unaccounted for in the relaunch.

I am very much hyped for this. (My wallet, not so much)

  • Warren Ellis writing a Karnak solo should be all sorts of amazing, same with Lemire on Old Man Logan.
  • The Ultimates team is about the best use of "epic" a team can get. I love to see Blue Marvel in a leading role.
  • I love the new status quo change for Peter Parker. Hopefully this shuts up everyone complaining about Miles "taking Peter's place". While I wish they would have replaced Slott, hopefully the new scenario will enhance his increasingly tired stories.
  • If Totally Awesome Hulk is indeed [BLACKOUT]Amadeous Cho[/BLACKOUT] then I'm all in.
  • Ant-man, Venom: Space Knight, and Illuminati also all caught my eye.
  • Oh, and hopefully we can all stop pretending Marvel wants to ditch the X-Men. I am, however, disapointed that the young students are no where to be seen.
All the irrational hate this is getting is just rediculous. The majority of these books look great.

Not thrilled with the old man versions sticking around, but I'm really excited for The Ultimates. Love that line-up.

Can we talk about how horrible the cover for New Avengers is? Everyone looks awful, but Wiccan looks especially gross. What a great line-up and premise. Too bad the art is undercutting any excitement I might have.

I would say the same thing about Uncanny Avengers. Man has that thing received such a downgrade since the original series.

I'm excited for the new storylines (provided they aren't planning on making everything permanent, which, given Marvel, they aren't). None of my fears were realized: They aren't resetting the Marvel universe, they aren't moving the X-Men into their own universe. My biggest disappointments, actually, are that they're losing entirely a few writers that I really like - particularly Kelly Sue DeConnick who not only could keep writing Captain Marvel forever as far as I'm concerned but I would at least like to see her writing something for Marvel.

I actually like this line-up better than Remender's but yeah, the art is horrid. I do appreciate them just making it the official Marvel mash-up title because the whole "Promote mutant/human racial harmony!" angle from Remender's run was never really handled particularly well.

Why would that happen?
It's a rumor that's been going around, what with his identity being kept a mystery and all. He fits very well into the various hints that have been given.

And Ill agree on the art for Uncanny Avengers and New Avengers. The only one that really bothers me is Ramos on Extraordinary X-Men. I've never cared for his art, but on the other hand, it's Lemire. And really like that team.

I agree. A lot of the books look interesting, even though I am not planning on getting them. Sad Ghost Rider didn't make it, but just have to wait a few years for the next attempt. Lack of Remender means I can drop Uncanny Avengers. And at least I am interested in the authors for the X-books. I am likely to try out Venom and All-New Wolverine.

Not every new book has been revealed yet. So there's hope for ghost rider.

There are a couple other characters that are absent so far that I hope show up.

So, don't make my final list yet?

Brevoort said that the 42 titles revealed so far just scratch the surface.

I'm assuming that's an exaggeration though. 42 is a lot already.

Hmm, I'll keep up with Hawkeye and Ant-man. Might try the X-men Road Trip book.

New line up looks great!

Lotta potential in those X-Books. Having Lemire on a run is a huge plus. Also stoked to see Duggan taking over for Remnder on Uncanny Avengers, and that he's back on Deadpool! Seriously thought he was done, so this is friggin awesome. Dude had a fantastic run that was arguably up there with Kelly's. Gonna be a good year for Wilson.

Yeah. People have pointed out that the hair looks exactly like how Frank Cho has drawn
Amadeus
in other books.

What the hell happened to Wiccan? I'm disliking most of the art on these covers. They all look rushed.

But Wada is pretty great. Too bad he's drawing Scarlet Witch...

Is that jacked dude on the New Avengers cover supposed to be Wiccan?

No horror titles? i would think with the current popularity of horror right now on television and the movies, that Marvel will jump on the bandwagon and relauch a few of their famous monsters; Werewolf By Night, Dracula, etc.,...
