90's R rated Action Movie Shootout: QF3 - True Lies vs Speed

The first two quater finals have been completely one sided but I think this should be more of a contest.

True Lies may have the better lead couple, but in terms of pure thrills and adrenaline very little beats Speed. Ultimately, I found Speed to be the more entertaining film by quite a bit.

This one is a bit tough. I'll give it to True Lies for comedy and some of the best set pieces in action history.

I'm a huge fan of both movies, two of my all time favourites, but I've always felt Speed was as much a thriller as a pure action movie, where as True Lies has several incredible action sequences, the Harrier Jet finale still stands up today.

Interesting comment, I would have said the Keanu and Sandra Bullock pairing was the more iconic and beloved.

Hard to pick this one. I love them both for separate reasons. I will give it to Speed though so I can see Keanu vs Keanu.

Bullock did well, but I thought Reeves was kind of wooden.

Keanu can’t act. He does nothing in any role he’s in.
