Apologies if this has already been done, but I searched the forum and found nothing for this:

Here's a challenge for all. From the Wikipedia List of American Superhero Films that you have seen, rank them top-to-bottom from 'most enjoyed' to 'least enjoyed'.

Your ranked list can be what you assert to "objectively" be a best-to-worst order. But it's probably more accurate to think of it as the order of films you enjoyed most for your own personal, subjective, idiosyncratic reasons. (Personal reasons can include the belief that a film is objectively great of course.)

I know for myself there are some movies that I really like a lot that have serious flaws... and several that are despised and mercilessly bashed by critics and fans alike... but I happen to like them for my own reasons, warts and all. And by the same token, there are some films that a lot of fans love that I just didn't get into as much.

Anyway, here is my list. I bolded the ones that I realize are probably out of step with most other fans, but again I have my own personal rationale for the order:

(And by the way, I think a fun way to think of this is as a kind of individual fingerprint that reflects your unique CBM fan 'identity'. For all practical purposes likely no one else you'll ever run into is going to have the same ranking order as you. If you have seen, let's say, 40 or more superhero films, I'm going to guess that the odds that you'll ever interact with someone who has exactly the same ranking is infinitesimal--probably virtually nil. (If anyone who has skills in calculating probability theory formulas can weigh in on that, please do!) Anyway, it's a kind of unique blueprint or signature, your CBM fan "DNA," if you will.)

Should I, Frankenstein be included in the Wikipedia list? It has a comic book, i.e., it is a CBM. Frankenstein may not really be considered a "superhero," though, I suppose... Similarly, 300 and Sin City are based on graphic novels, but are not superhero films.

Btw, sharing such a list among my own RL fellow CBM nerd friends became an opportunity for us to bust each others chops about the 'guilty pleasure' films we all have. My friends think I'm nuts for my comparative ranking of Daredevil and TDK or Blade, for example. But that's the pot calling the kettle black because the same friends have among their top most favorite films CBM films Howard the Duck and Dick Tracy! (The latter not a superhero movie, but still. Really?) Just saying that our respective rankings highlights how idiosyncratic tastes can be--and how incomprehensible they can appear to be to others sometimes.

This is how much I enjoy the films now btw, not on first watch, where Avengers and Iron Man would be right at the top.

Dark Knight
Batman Begins
Dark Knight Rises
Spider-Man 2
X-Men ---- That first act is just perfection
Spider-Man
Chronicle
Unbreakable
Mystery Men ---- Mr. Furious, Shoveler, Blue Raja!? Love it
Man of Steel
Watchmen
Thor ---- The main musical theme is a big reason methinks. Can't believe they haven't used it again.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ---- Pointless squandered subplots and silliness galore, but I enjoy it from moment to moment
The Amazing Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3 ---- Same reason as TASM2. Love Raimi's tone.
Hellboy
Guardians of the Galaxy
X-Men: The Last Stand ---- After the initial (years of) anger of certain characters being squandered, I find it to be fairly enjoyable
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Ant-Man
Iron Man 2 ---- I enjoy Justin Hammer
Iron Man
X2
X-Men: Days of Future Past
X-Men: First Class
The Avengers ---- I just find Whedon's dialogue so grating here. Looks like a tv show too.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Iron Man 3 ---- I didn't buy anything......except the Mandarin stuff funnily enough. Kingsley was hilarious.
Thor: The Dark World
The Wolverine
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Fantastic Four
Kick-Ass ---- Hit-Girl's facial expression just annoys me to no end. Sorry...
Dredd
Daredevil
Hulk
Incredible Hulk
Green Lantern
X-Men Origins Wolverine

There's a bunch of movies that I just don't remember too, so I'll leave them off the list. They didn't make much of an impression on me though (Blade movies, the old Superman/Batman movies, Constantine, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)

@FeedOnATreeFrog, I'll have to check out Chronicle! I'd never heard of it till you posted this.

I still wonder if Trank actually did complete a decent version of FF but for some bizarre reason it got butchered by the studio in post-production. There are what appear to be important scenes from the trailers missing from the film, and it looks like a different hand editing it once they cross over inter-dimensionally. I actually really enjoyed all but the strangely mangled ending to FF. Even that for me did not absolutely ruin the experience of the entire film, but it left me disconcerted for sure.

FWIW I enjoyed Mystery Men also, I think it is a really fun satire.

Frat Boys: Can we bring brewskies?

Casanova Frankenstein: Yes, of course, you may absolutely bring zah "brewskies."
