I just bought a new 1080p 22" widescreen tv & recently when I am watching a Blu-Ray movie on it I notice a faint horizontal line or streak that shows up through the film & I don't know what could be the cause of it. Although it happens briefly it just looks like a mild defect in the film like the film had been cut down the middle horizontally in certain spots & spliced back together & just leaves a very faint but still visible line. Since the problem doesn't occur all the time I don't consider my tv to be defective, the tv did come with a free HDMI cable so maybe it is just a minor glitch that is caused by that.

No input on this problem? Can a scan line go bad in one resolution that isn't picked up in another resolution?

is this just on Bluray movies or while you are watching tv also

Yes just on Blurays so far, Although I can also see the horizontal line through the screen when I turn on the PS3 in 1080p mode or when I am viewing pictures that I have stored on my PS3's hardrive. Don't have anything greater than 480p as my tv signal at the moment so I wouldn't really be able to tell if the problem was there without a higher signal. I mostly use the tv as a computer monitor in 1280x800 mode & I don't see any line going through the screen in this mode. The worst problem I have in that mode is strange rectangular type shapes that appear when I zoom in & out very fast.

what is brand and model of your tv, it could be a manufacturing issue

It sounds like the HDMI cable or do you have a cable box close by and is it using coaxial? If you do, try disconnecting the Cable/Coaxial and see if the problem stops. You could be getting interference.

Do you have access to another HDMI or another device to hook your current one up to?

Don't have it hooked up to a cable box, I'm just using the cheap HDMI cable that came with the tv & have it hooked into the PS3. I have 2 other HDMI cables but they are both in use with my bigger tv.

Vizio 22" 1080p full HD. It's got a good picture & all but seeing a crack, screen tear or whatever it may be is very irritating. It probably is just a manufacturing issue. If I lived closer to the store were I got it from I would have returned it by now & exchanged it for another one.

Ok. So the TV only has the PS3 hooked up to it. Cool.

Use one of the other HDMI cables from your bigger TV and see if the problem is fixed.
