why did leo go after nigh****cher when splinter told he knows what to do to get the team back together? he obviously didnt know it was raph.

He went after Nigh****cher cause he seen him while he was out looking for Raph, knowing he had to stop him from his vigilante ways and show that what he was doing was wrong.

No there is no cut scene in which Leo and Karai meet, thats the first time they meet. If you'll remember, he says "I think we're getting off on the wrong foot here" and then at the end when Karai confronts them after the battle she says "You were ever bit of warriors as i was informed you were"

Karai had been informed of them, who they were, and what they did(killed Saki).

ok, but why does leo recognize her as if he'd seen her before?

Well, I know they've met in the animated series before, but I don't think the film series takes those events into account.

It could have been included as an homage to either the original comics or the 2003 animated series.

They better explain who she is, why she took over The Foot, etc. in the next movie. And no Shredder. Shredder is dead, Karai is the new Shredder and leader of The Foot Clan.

I find it funny that censoring it like that brings it more to my attention. LOL

I didn't get the impression they knew each other before either. He even says a few things otherwise as mentioned already.

hmm wanna try something

night watcher

so stupid how it censors the offending word when it is not standalone, it's apart of a WORD.

I think his statement was more directed at the foot in general than karai specifically. She was the voice of the group.

Is it apart of a word... or a part of a word?? (Sorry, I'm an English major.) But, seriously... how come it let you spell out "Nightwatcher"?

True... It's obvious that the Turtles recognized the Foot but it seemed that she recognized the Turtles as well. When they first came in contact on screen, she says "You!" indicating that she knew who he was... then he said, "I think we're getting off on the wrong foot here," which, to me, sounds like he had seen her for the first time.

After the climax of the movie she says, "You are every bit the warriors I was informed you were... soon we will have further business together. The kind that involves familiar faces from your past." So, basically, the clues lead me to believe that she knows somebody who informed her of the Turtles but they have never before met.

:word:

why didnt they try to get some of the original voice actors back ? i think feldman would of done it

I was under the impression that she perhaps knew Master Tatsu. Did he die in the original TMNT movies? The reason I say that she knows him is because she used similar hand signals like Tatsu did in the old movies. Maybe it's his daughter?

Because Kevin Monroe didn't want to have everyone thinking about the face actor instead of the character, which I ironically found myself doing with April and Casey the entire movie.

She possibly knew Tatsu... and replaced him... they used similar hand signals because they were both head of the Foot (haha... "head" of the "foot"... get it? body parts... and stuff...). I would say there's no need to make them related since Karai is her own character and is very prevalent in the comics. To my knowledge, Tatsu has never appeared in the comics.

As I remember, he didn't die in the movie... the Turtles slammed their shells together with him in between and then I don't think they showed him after that.

Tatsu never appeared in the Mirage, or Archie comics. And I was just a little surprised not to see him reappear back in 2003 when the new TMNT animated series made it's debut, but I suppose Laird and company didnt want to look like they couldnt come up with new characters, so Hun was brought in as a replacement. Even though he's very similar to Tatsu in alot of respects, although not exactly.

With Karai, I just felt as if she was informed by several Foot Ninja's about the Turtles upon her arrival from Japan to retore order to the NY base of The Foot following The Shredder's defeat. Not necessarily Saki himself, but rather surviving members of the NY Foot Base. The idea of Tatsu being the one that gave knowledge to her of the Turtles being "Every bit the warrior's she was informed they were" is interesting.

That is interesting notion but I'd be surprised to see any new mention of Tatsu in any TMNT universe. I wonder if the sequel (if there is one) will be the City at War storyline.
