Ha a fine point that was glossed over in the movie. Still I can live with it.

He just blends into the crowd.

I think the logic behind the police scene was everyone was so crippled with fear they looked up for snipers instead of at the actual parade.

Really? The best thing I learned from the joker was how to trick people into blowing up their girlfriends and how to kill bus drivers.
