Although a Baxter Stockman/Rat King angle would be my first choice for a sequel, I have another interesting idea that could feed off of the events of the coming film.

**Basic plot spoilers for new film**

It's known that in the new film Max Winters will someone an army of 13 monsters to attack New York City. He gains the power to control them because of a certain lunar/stellar alignment (something to that effect).

**End spoilers. Start sequel speculation**
I was thinking that the power emitted from this alignment could be sent off from Earth into space. Where it is recovered by a passing ship...a Triceraton warship. The Triceratons trace the signal back to Earth and discover a new planet full of inhabitants to conquer. They then gather their armies and attack one of Earth's main economic centers: NYC. Leaving the TMNT to fend them off.

What do you think?

I like it. Outside the new toon, I always thought the Triceratons were underused.

I would love something with the Triceratons in it. Loved their storyarc in the new 'toon.

I would also vote for this movie to have Leatherhead in it. Because he's all kinds of cool.

Like it. Just as long as they aren't too campy. I read the TPB of the original TMNT story by Eastman and Laird. Sheer brilliance. Try to get the triceratons to fit that framework, and it'll be gold.

TMNTs' space storys were always great. Would really like to see them. Maybe even have them come to earth because of the fugitode.

Personally, I'd like to see them tone down the Sci-Fi that the comics had and focus on some real-ish scenarios with more focus on these turtles as ninja. Let's see stealth, sneaking in, breaking into places, not being seen, MGS style stealth ninja action.

However, as for the Triceratons, technically you don't need to bring them in. Before Leonardo was sent on his year long training mission (that he extended into two years), the brothers fought three Triceratons in the sewers. It was just before the fight that Raph heard an old man being mugged, whom he would later meet and receive the Night.watcher suit from.

Now why they released TMNT Prequel Comic 1 of 5 the Wednesday before the movie's release is beyond me. Shoulda been number 5 of 5 coming out the week of release. So far I've pieced together:

1: Raphael (we also see Splinter announce Leo's training journey)
2: Michaelangelo
3: ?
4: ?
5: Leonardo

I assume Donatello and Casey Jones/April are 3 and 4, though I don't which comes where.

Bringing in the Triceratons would be fine for a sequel, but theres no reason to connect it to that star alignment thing. No reason to reference that ever again, plus it would seem forced.

How awesome would it have been had they just used some of their real villians like a ridiculous Batman style Rat King/Stockman team up. Probably a little more awesome than it all ready was.

I would say shreder but that would be ok too
