First of all, I love Superman Returns. I thought it was great. However, its obvious that alot werent too pleased with Kate Bosworth's performance as Lois.

Should Kate Bosworth be replaced for future films?

If so, I'm offering the suggestion of replacing her with House's Jennifer Morrison. She bears a strong resemblence to Kate's Lois and her mannerisms and voice are similar enough to make a smooth transition. She, however, is also a great actress on the show and has a slightly more mature look and presense compared to Kate. She could possibly make it more believeable without totally changing Kate's Lois completely.

There are ways to get her out of it if need be. It wouldnt be the first time.

Bosworth stays.

Its not really a topic for this forum anyway.

bosworth goes, and she can be taken out when ever wb wants, it is written into the contract.

Whoa I'm so used to seeing her in a lab coat. Anyway a recasting can only help at this point. Superman is not a teen drama but that's basically what it's become by casting some many young looking ppl. Routh could easily play 21 and Bosworth could easily be 18 and younger.

That doesn't mean they will use her. The WB can release he from the contract at any point. The contract obligates Kate to do the movie, it doesn't obligate WB to use Kate.

I personally think that IF the sequel gets made the brass behind WB is going to cut Kate. They need a bigger name star to help bring in bigger box office. I could easily see WB forcing Rachel McAdams or Kate Beckinsale into the cast as they are currently the 'it girls' of Hollywood.

I thought Kate did good. Want to see her more risk taking in the next one and stronger character.

Just because other actress's are the it girls..doesn't mean they will have the same chemistry that Kate and Brandon have..you can see them on screen smouldering..you truely believe that they love each other..

and just one line sold me on bosworth..

"how could you leave us like that" fantastic acting.

Gotta think like a suit Robo. They want money. Not chemistry. Especially since the 'chemistry' between Routh and Bosworth didn't produce money.

at this point i doubt it. mcadams woulda helped this movie, but she wouldnt help a sequel any more them bosworth would at this point. besides, i doubt wb will replace anyone. really, they got this movie too well known to do that. not only that but singer defiently wants her to stay, and they will want just as good of movie so casting wise, im sure itll remain the same. this isnt batman where everyone hates-even if unfairly-the love interrst due the actress.

and HELL NO that actress.

If you are thinkning like a suit then you wouldn't suggest to replace Kate with Beckinsale or McAdams. They would require a contract with more money because they are IT girls, which wouldn't be smart considering that WB is making changes based on the fact they didn't come close to their projections. Keeping Kate makes more sense because she gave a "good" performance as Lois and replacing Lois isn't really going to give them any more spark at the box office. They will focus on bigger things like reducing the budget and cutting marketing costs.

Bosworth wasn't that bad, her Lois Lane was a new version of Lois . I the sequel however I'm sure will see more of the iconic Lois Lane. I thought Kate did a good job .

IMHO, the problems with Lois's character shouldn't be attributed to Bosworth. Her character was written very poorly at times. Kate did fine with what she was given. As for her being too young for the role... hell, that's just Hollywood. She probably play a teenager in a movie after she hits 30.

How do you like to think like a suit or know what a suit is thinking ? How do you know the WB are not happy with Bosworth ? If they never liked her to begin with she would not have been cast. Stop pretending to be your suit when you do not even know what other suits are thinking

(sighs) haters they will say anything

So there are still people more willing to label someone, instead of debating a point? Sad. If he's a hater, you're an "apologist", so you cancel each other out.

Like yours are any better ?

Ok, I understand now. Not going to get pulled into "I know you are but what am I" with you. Save that for the kids at school, I'm sure they enjoy it too.

I don't think replacing Lois is going to bring in more money though?

i mean she gave a great proformance..i do not think thet will get rid of her.. why pay extra money for another star..when they have lredy agreed a price with bosworth for the 3 films.

As much as I like Kate Beckinsale, I don't picture her doing much better. Her largest box office draw is Pearl Harbor, which grossed under 200 million dollars . . . and that was a massive Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer production including the likes of Ben Affleck, Alec Baldwin, Josh Hartnett, and Cuba Gooding Jr. and was released on Memorial Day weekend. Her other headlining films, such as Van Helsing, Serendipity, and Underworld do much worse.
