She may not be as important as Lois, but still she was used extensively by John Byrne in his post-Crisis revamp and in the pre-Crisis world she was always Lois's chief rival.

Just so I can point this out...do you remember all the other "rivals" for Superman's affection dring Bryne's time???????

Lana was one name in the bunch, and she was given WAY more importance by Bryne than by any other writer to date. Soo.....:whatever:

Well, like I said in several other threads, if the film brings back the sense of excitement and adventure as STM had then we will forget about SR. .....I hope!:woot:

I'll never forget about that. Yet, I won't hold it against Superman. He's blameless. BSinger is at fault, and I'll blame him until the cows come home.

Yeah, let's just hope that the sequel is drastically different the Returns. And finally introduce some more villians. Brainiac and Bizzaro please!:woot: I hope that JLA will happen as well!

She is not an important part of the Superman mythos, and you can't really say that Silver Age gave her more importance than anyone else introduced in that age.

Lana Lang is Lori Lemaris and like Lori if she went away...no one would notice. Now, I'm not saying Lana Lang wasn't introduced in the the fifties, or that she isn't important as a character. I'm only saying her importance to the mythos is a little overhyped in your estimation. She could die tomorrow and the Superman mythos would move on. That's the facts of the matter. So, like I said, she's not that important.

As for Jason and Richard being introduced in the comics...uhhhh....are we talking about all comics...because I actually have a few comics where they are there.

Byrne used Lana as the 'best friend' girlfriend that he was not romantically involved with as an adult. Lana is way more important than Lori Lemaris. I think Lana could be used successfully, especially if they want a way to not address Jason and Richard, do a prequel that Lois is not around for whatever reason.

I think you know I mean comic contunuity and not the SR prequel comics. WHy did you waste your money on those anyways?

:o Hell no! What the sequel needs is definitely NOT Lana, and all the lame crap that would come from it. What the film needs is Superman battling a super villian instead of worrying about more drama. Leave that to the spider-man films ,and let's get Superman back on track!

Lana's not as important as Lois, so what? If you used that mindset, we would have never seen Zod in the Superman movies because he wasn't that big a deal before.

And what's all this worrying about Lana bringing in a lot of soap opera crap? It's not as if she'll be portrayed like the ***** on Smallville.

You know, just because SR had too much drama and not enough action, doesn't mean we should do the exact opposite in the sequel.

Because I buy Superman, and the artwork was nice.

Still, Lana is not that important. Smallville has given her a boost, but she's not that important...not to me.
