I hate them! chavs, chavettes and anyone who has a ASBO.

We as a country are supposed to be cracking down on these kind of people yet we pay them for being exactly what they are!

no im not talking about dole for their drugs im on about all the fricking TV shows!

now i know you will argue that these shows are meant to make them better people but the producers only pay them to be on the show because they know they cant be changed and that they will kick off!

shows like "Brat camp" and "from ASBO scene to Beauty Queen" and the show where they stick aloud of kids in a house and see if they can be adults

...
...
...

THEY CAN'T, thats exactly why they have ASBO's attached to them or at least 5 criminal offences.

we are basically encouraging those types of people to act that way because there is a chance they will get on TV.

also i was watching the wright stuff the other day and they were talking about ASBo's and someone said kids with ASBO's arent clever and one rang up to prove he wasnt stupid by saying he dropped out of school so he could go on the dole, meaning he doesnt have to work....i hate them, lazy is what they are.

i dont have a job at the moment because i had to leave my previous workplace and most of the places in my area are currently in a scheme that puts kids with ASBO's into work, so i cant earn money because these people who would rather roam the streets swearing and drinking cider are getting wages for there least amount of effort when i could be an actual use to the store and earn my moneys worth!

GRRR!!!

rant over, thanks for reading if you did.

it is f**king pathetic, an asbo now isnt even something to be ashamed of, they calss it as a badge of honour. what really pissed me off is when you read reports where police are using tax payers money to take groups of these little basterds to theme parks and days out so that they dont hang around and cause trouble

looking back at my childhood( i'm 24) i realise i did the wrong things in actually working hard and trying to make something of myself, i should have just broke the law, f**ked about and ended up getting more money fore it than if i actually do my job

Did you guys hear about that little boy that got an ASBO because he played his bagpipes too loud?

They just have nothing better to do with their time... sub standard education and no parents to take care of them, they are growing up by themselves on the streets... we're going backwards instead of forwards... soon we'll be back to being cavemen

But yeah the ASBO is something to be proud of these days... better to get them off the streets instead of letting them run wild

For us Yanks, please....what the hell is an ASBO?

very stereotypical, im a teen, i dont have a ASBO nor any criminal convictions

I think you might be tarring all of them with the same brush, yes you do get the types that are mentioned but in alot of cases these kids have some absolutely traumatic childhoods coupled with awful parenting and at times no parenting at all.

This about sums it all up

Wikipedia said:
In the United Kingdom an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO, pronounced az-bo) is a civil order made against a person who has been shown to have engaged in conduct which caused or was likely to cause alarm, harassment, or distress to one or more persons not of the same household as him or herself and where an ASBO is necessary to protect relevant persons from further anti-social acts by the Defendant. [1] In England and Wales they are issued by Magistrates' Courts, and in Scotland by the Sheriff Courts. It was introduced by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

Yeah man, they do my freekin head in -- I live in Salford, Manchester, and round here we call them scallies . . . little bastards. What makes me laugh is that they don't even get right when adults are near them anymore -- when i was a kid we missbehaved like anyone else, but if an adult told us to stop we would (we probably mutterd something as we were walkin off with are tails between our legs) but now if an adult stepped in they would likley be beaten and stabbed or summat. It just f**ks me off!

Thanks, kingman. I was thinking it was some sort of psychological or physiological disorder such as ADD, but that helps clarify it a bit more.

I dont mind them, if they bother me a swift kick in the balls soon sets them right :)

That's the recommended course of action by the Home Office

Isn't anti-social behavior a disorder?

Well, ASBD doesn't quite roll off the tounge the same way, so I could see why you would remove the "dis".

Also, forgive my ignorance on chavs, but is the entire subculture filled with anti social, emotionally unstable kids? Or is that just the stereotype?

An anti social behaviour order is a legal restriction that is placed on anyone who breaches certain conditions. It doesn't relate to a person's mental state, for example. Any person can receive an ASBO if they commit certain crimes / are a public nuisance for long enough.

I suppose it's a stereotype but a well justified one as the vast majority will have this background.

It's a court order, not a mental disorder, although some would argue otherwise lol. That's mainly just a stereotype, but for the most part (mainly in the poorer areas) it's pretty spot on. In a lot of places, you just get plastic chavs who are generally like normal teenagers who hate anyone that looks "gothic" and like to get drunk in parks with cider. "Proper" chavs with ASBO's and stuff are usually more known for disturbing the peace a little more.

So it's an injunction which prohibits these kids from their activities? How effective is it?
