While visiting Reno Nevada for a wedding last weekend, my cousins and I went to the rock quarry behind Hidden Valley to, um, er, hang out. Anyway, on the first trip (there were many) I wished out loud that I could see the wild horses...not ten seconds later we spotted around 25 wild horses grazing on the hillsides. On the next trip, we mentioned how we'd love to be able to pet one, that it was too bad they're wild. Whatdoyaknow, we step out of the car, whistle and four horses come fast-trotting towards us. Given we didn't how the animals would react, we got back in the car...but we got pictures!!
I got to pet this one's nose, he was just a baby. I tried to roll the window up, but my husband turned off the car!
This is Mama, or one of them. She wasn't happy with us and stared us down the whole time.
This girl was beautiful.
There was also a black stallion with a long mane that wouldn't come near us. He was the one I was worried about, he was huge!
