He's back after many many years after X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). One of the X-Men villains in the movies I least eXpected to return! But yay!

By the way, the eXclamation marks - I just copied that from the Wolverine thread for consistency of title threads in this section.

Would be cool (or hot and cool?) if Iceman showed up too so we could get a proper fire and ice battle between them. Or maybe they should save that for Secret Wars...

I don't eXpect Iceman to show up especially a fight scene, maybe a cameo.

I'm hoping for a big action scene for Pyro in this movie. Visually he's more interesting for action pieces than the other two seen in the set.

I wonder if Chris Evans is reprising his role as Human Torch in this? Pyro could have fun with someone who’s engulfed in fire. Maybe Pyro’s line, “God, I love this part!” is in response to Human Torch’s “Flame On!”

Wonder which universe are Toad, Pyro, Sabreooth from
Original timeline has been erased so Apocalypse, DarkPhoenix, DP1 & 2, DOPF ending, Logan still exist in Foxverse. old foes are from new Foxtimeline (between DarkPhoenix and DOFP ending) or maybe a made-in-MCU universe (like 838 or Beast/Binary earth)

I think they are all from a different timeline but featuring the same actors, in a better designed, more comic booky costumes.

It was so nice seeing Aaron Stanford after 15 years.

Its my next rewatch of X2/X3, it would be comforting to know that he appeared for a third time as Pyro. How he was defeated in X3 was lame.

X-23, Pyro, Sabretooth, are from x-men films (earth 10005) Pyro and Sabretooth maybe from new timeline between Dark Phenox and DOFP 2023
Blade Elektra Johnny Storm are respectively the same version
all been sent to the void at some point

Bullseye, Toad, Juggernaut(X3 design) are from anothers universes

OK however Aaron Stanford and Dafne Keen confirmed they played the same version from Fox. We dont know about the others

I don't know why would the Time Variant Authority kick out FoXverse's X-23 and Pyro into the void though...

Let's face it. He was the least exciting choice to return in this.

They didn't specify which version. They were just name dropped one by one.

The interesting thing, is that the person playing Cassandra Nova looks like she could pass for James McAvoy's female twin, so I wonder if the version of Charlies and Magneto she killed were the Fassbender and McAvoy versions?

Hmm unlikely. She grew up in the Void and iirc, she was thrown into the void when she was only a baby.

If she did kill indeed Magneto, she probably originally met him in the void. I don't think they considered if its an adult or younger version of the character.

Also, unfortunately they didnt specify which Punisher. 2004 version or Warzone version or other version made-in-MCU. no easter eggs

Hulk2003 and the 2 Punishers' sort remains unknown

Ray Stevenson is no longer with us. So out of the two Lionsgate Punisher movies, Thomas Jane is the only one possible to return.

Aside from Eric Bana, Secret Wars would be a good excuse to finally bring back the original Hulk actor of the MCU. I still find it weird how Iron Man 2 and Avengers had major recastings which was during the early years of the MCU. Recasting doesn't seem to happen now in the MCU movies.

They occurred because 1. they paid WAY too much money for Terrence Howard in the first Iron Man and he didn't want to take a pay cut for the sequel, and 2. Edward Norton was difficult to work with, and Feige wanted Mark Ruffalo from the beginning anyway.

It is still weird looking back. Especially IR and TIH are the first two movies. It could have been worse if they encountered similar scenarios during phase 2 to now.
