The crime procedural Poe follows Edgar Allan Poe as the world's first detective. He employs unorthodox methods to investigate dark mysteries in 1840s Boston. The project will tell how some of Poe's famous stories came to be, but only some episodes will be about a specific Poe story. Chris Hollier (Alias) wrote the pilot and will produce along with Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes).

This sounds like it would make for a decent show.

Interesting, especially given that Raven movie is on the way that also features Poe as a detective.

Sounds cool.

Sounds like itll be expensive too.

I think someone should order a TV pilot in which JK Rowling secretly moonlights as a boy wizard.... because, y'know... she wrote about boy-wizards. :o

I'm not sure about this. But I'll give a chance because it could be good.

Hmm, it seems interesting. It has my attention.

Heh. I need to show this to a buddy of mine named Poe (pronounced "Poy"). He'll be thrilled to know he has a show.

I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on this one.

And looking forward to Egan's transformation into the character. John Cusack is playing Poe in The Raven and looks convincing to say the least.

Why is it set in 1840's Boston? It should be in Baltimore. And Poe died in the 1840's, he was in his late 30's. Chris Egan is too young.
As good idea as I actually think this is, they need to fix a few things, such as the setting.

Egan is playing Edgar Allen Poe?! Isn't he.... considerably younger and better looking?

What's next? Alex Pettyfer as HP Lovecraft?

or Shai Labouef as Alan Moore :o
You know what, let's make that happen. I'd like to see if we can piss him off anymore than Hollywood already has.
