ABC remaking "Charlie's Angels"

Considering the show is doing well thus far I highly doubt they are thinking of cancelling it. Espically since they dont have that many heavy hitters left.

Playboy Club, Charlie’s Angeles and Prime Suspect drew an underwhelming 1.3, 1.5 and 1.5 18-49 rating, respectively, in their second week and are teetering on the verge of cancellation. Only 2 series did worse Monday-Thursday on the Big 4 networks this week, both on NBC: DOA new comedy Free Agents (1.0) and sophomore drama Harry’s Law (1.2). Why didn’t Playboy Club, Charlie’s Angeles and Prime Suspect work? In short, they all were not very compelling television shows. But there were individual reasons too.

Charlie’s Angels too was at Comic-Con where it held a screening, something that may have actually hurt the show as the Charlie’s Angels reboot suffered mostly from bad word of mouth and pretty abysmal reviews that trashed the show’s writing, directing and acting. The main gripe about the remake was that it took itself too seriously which may have worked for the original 30 years ago but today it came through as stiff and comical for the wrong reasons. The campy route the 2000 movie remake starring Barrymore took may have worked better.

Whenever I watch this show, I'm acutely aware that it just isn't good. That's not to say it's horrible (it's not as bad as most reviews would have you to believe), but it's just not good. Too much of the dialogue is either corny, heavy-handed or transparent in leading you to believe something about the dynamic that belies what's been presented. There's just something 'off'. Plus, the characters have been fairly bland (even for three eps in). I'm 45.6% sure that Bosley is composed of 67.2% cardboard.

If given some time and work, you could craft a decent series out of this. Of course, seeing as how this was the lowest rated show on a major network last night, that's likely a moot point.

However, this show has allowed me to discover that I love Rachael Taylor. :hrt:

Considering how badly ABC is doing this year they may keep this around a little longer to find its footing. Even Greys hit an all time low with like 8-9mill viewers (dont know why they dont just end it since they are ending DH). Drew needs to get some new show runners.

I like the new Charlie's Angels better when it was called She Spies.

People actually think this show takes itself too seriously? I don't think they take themselves seriously enough...

Imagine if they cancelled this before that episode airs? lol.

I'm sure they're waiting to see if more people tune in for her though. If not, then it's probably going to be the last episode.

It's not been cancelled yet but it doesn't seem to be performing to what ABC hoped for.

This probably would last longer if it was on CW.

None of ABCs new shows are performing like they would like them to. Pan Am dropped to like 8mill?

Even Grey's Anatomy is having series low ratings. It seems the only way to guarantee success at this point is to have an acronym with an S and an I in the title and be on CBS.

Everything on tv suffered last Thursday night, since we're in the middle of the baseball playoffs. Bigger sporting events always pull in major viewers and ratings for other shows tend to drop because of it.

This weeks was corny as hell and featured the dumbest drug plot ever.

The next episode looks pretty cool. It's got Erica Durance and James Morrison (Bill Buchanan in 24) as the villain. He's awesome.

anyone seen the spy set shots of Minka snogging Taylor? I was going to stop watching... but i might not now LOL

Just downloading the first 3 episodes to try it out. It's not on here.

I watched the pilot. I've yet to watch the last two episodes, but I'll be tuning in tonight for Erica Durance's guest spot.

I'll most definitely be tuning in for the Kelly-Taylor kiss. If the show manages to stay on for that episode.

Erica Durance :D They should get rid of Minka and add her,

That cop looked like an overweight short haired, Maya Rudolph

It was an improvement over the pilot.

I liked that they fleshed out Bosley 2.0 a bit more and his relationship with Durance was interesting enough.

It was a decent episode. Erica and Minka looked beautiful. The Bosley subplot was interesting. I hope they explore more of his background in upcoming episodes. Also hope to see Durance come back if the show continues.

Im sad but im not. They shouldve just got new showrunners to turn this thing around.
