ABC remaking "Charlie's Angels"

At least we got to see Durance's episode before it got cancelled. They're still going to air the remaining episodes I think.

I knew this show was doomed before it even aired.

Yes, because one failed show and one that lasted a decade is certainly cause to quit show business. Get real. :o

They just found the wrong people to do it just like WW.

the kissing on the beach was a way to save the show right?

To recap:

Lethal Weapon 4
Shanghai Noon
Showtime
Herbie: Fully Loaded
The Mummy 3
Hannah Montana: The Movie
I Am Number Four
Charlie's Angels

Like I said, it's time for them to quit show business.

I haven't seen this weeks yet but no surprise on the cancellation, though I am glad they will at least show next weeks as it looked decent lol.

* Smallville.

Just because it ran for 10 seasons still doesn't make it not complete horse dung.

I only watched one episode… or tried to anyway, and it was terrible. I don't know if it was the dialogue or acting.

But the real issue was the lack of believability. I doubt the leads could pitch a tent by themselves, much less fight armed gunmen.

Minka Kelly's hot, but I wonder if the show would have worked better with Eliza Dushku or Summer Glau had played Eve?

It wouldn't have. The show's fate did not fall on Minka Kelly's shoulders. People can ***** all they want about her in that role, but she's proven herself (outside this show, of course) as a very capable actress.

The problem was the writing.

So how many episodes were made ? Wiki says 13. Are they going to air the remaining episodes ? Or just stick them online ?

I read they are going to air the remaining episodes. And another famous 70's TV show update/remake bites the dust.

So what's next?

Ill be surprised if they dont try to shop this around to a different network. This wouldve been a good fit with Nikita had Supernatural not be around for it.

They'll air everything that they've filmed and then put something else in its place. We don't know what that will be yet.

Supernatural fans are calling for its time slot to be changed. If the CW did somehow get this show. Then that is what they could do

Nikita would only emphasise how poor Charlies Angels is as a female led action show.

I think 8 episodes were filmed and they've already shown 4 of them.

The CW is too good for this show. :o

Maybe ABC Family or MTV would be a better fit.

If the CW was entirely made up of crap shows like Gossip Girl or 90210, I'd say go for it. But it's not. ABC Family and MTV, however, are entirely made up of crap shows, so... :o

In a nutshell (and pardon me if people have pointed this stuff out already), why I think that the new Charlie's Angels failed:
*It was way, way too serious for its own good. I'm not saying that the show should've been campy and ridiculous like the original TV series or the two movies. But lets be honest, isn't part of the appeal or charm of Charlie's Angels is the concept of hot chicks solving crime (Charlie's Angels was considered the original "jiggle show" for a reason). Plus, if they are going to go for the "darker and edgier" vibe regardless, then they really needed to talent to pull it off (and I don't think it was the case with this sort of writing and acting).

*The plots a lot of the time were hard to understand and follow (again going back to my complaint that the show took itself too seriously). For starters, it seemed like every episode started with the Angels already knee deep in their missions/cases.

*The Angels when you get right down to it, were pretty interchangeable personality wise (other than one's blonde, one's brunette, and one's a black girl). Even in the movies, I could sort of tell which was which from a personality standpoint. You know something is wrong with Bosley is more interesting if not well developed than the Angels.

*The casting was just seemed off (it seemed like these people were cast more for their looks than their acting skills or charisma). Minka Kelly is especially bad (she just came across as wooden and one-note). I thought that Annie Illonzeh gave the most natural performance.
