ABC's "No Ordinary Family"

The Collins reveal may have been somewhat obvious, but he's awesome enough to make it work.

*works on theory to relate his character here to his character on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia*

Just saw the pilot. Not bad. I like that the powers have some kind of significance. Like the ending showed that Jim and Stephanie's powers kind of complement each other, with him throwing the football super far away and her rushing off to get it back in no time. JJ's should be interesting too, going from having a learning disability to being a super-genius. The only one I'm not too keen on is Daphne's. Telepathy in high school is a recipe for an easy overload of melodrama.

Anyway, the pilot was good enough to make me continue with the next few episodes, at least.

Inevitable scene of newly brainy kid showing up his brainy mom on something.

I like the role reversal between the leads. Normally the man would be the work-aholic and the wife would be the sensitive "We're drifting apart," one. Reversing it so both actors are playing against type to boot is a good move.

Probably. Lord knows there were plenty of superhero clichés in the first episode. But I think there's some potential once they work those out of their system in another couple episodes.

Saw it finally and I had planned to not like it...but turns out I really do. I can't wait to see more. :)

Haha, that car scene was hilarious.

hah, reading your text is bad at super speed :hehe:

Reading some Wolverine: Civil War? Come on JJ, you can do better than that.

I have not tried this yet but I plan to. Got a big list. Although is the pilot as tacky as the trailer eluded?

Neverless, the pilot was really good. If they keep with the formula they have in place for this show, it will be really really great. The second episode was really good too.

LOL Jim's a S. H. I. T. Super Hero In Training.

That was a good episode. Nice of them to start establishing limits on themselves early. Although I must admit, I'm 50-50 on the bad guy emoting Sylar's powers. At least he isn't melodramatic.

Second episode an improvement.......I'll be back again next week.

Really liked the ending creepy. Never got to watch much heroes so i'm not drawing comparisons like others I guess that's a good thing.

Even if you do compare it to Heroes this show still tops it on the two episodes shown already.

I enjoyed Heroes but this is so much better. We get the right amount of focus on everything whereas in Heroes it jolted around too much.

I hope these guys get picked up for another series, really interested to see what they could do with the show.

Did they really just kill off the hot cop? I thought she would stick around for a while. I feel sorry for JJ and his crap teacher. He seems to really have it in for him just because he wasn't the brightest student before. I just realized why the kid looks so familiar though. He played the young James T. Kirk in Star Trek!

This is a lot better than expected. A bunch of little details make the whole powers thing more believable. Superspeed: it's a ***** to crash, you can accidentaly kill children on the street, you need GPS to navigate over big distances, your calories burn faster. Super strenght and bulletproof skin doesn't mean your feet is nailed to the floor, a car can still hit you. Good stuff.

It's assumed that the detective was killed but considering how that dude (I forgot his name) had his back turned to her, and was out of her home before the gun shot went off, she could have had plenty of time to move out of the way. Unless of course, he still had his telekenetic grip on her, but if he didn't, it would be smart of her to play dead at this point.

I think JJ's brain power could help me right about now.

I like the fact they are not whining about having super powers. :)
Unlike in Heroes...

Although the actress herself is slated to leave the show, which doesn't give much hope to her being alive, the fact that the villain walked away opens her up for a future return. That is, unless the next episode actually talks about her body being found. :csad:

 Sylar doesn't have a patent on telekinesis...

Trust me, I know this. I personally have no problem with it. I just worry about the average watcher whose knowledge of superheroes doesn't go beyond what prime-time tv and/or movies offer, or whatever they glimpse their children watching on Cartoon Network. I almost heard their collective reaction of: "They copied what'shisname from that other powers show." People just won't be able to help but compare the two.

Personally, I already like Josh Stewart's character better. He seems to be a lot simpler character than Sylar. Meaning, they won't likely try and make him hover between good and bad guy by some contrived plot where he's the brother of the hero, but not really. He's simply a hired hand that happens to be in on the secret.
