I like it. It's growing on me pretty quickly. I wasn't bowled over the by the pilot, I was kinda like "Well, it's better than nothing." But the second ep is slowly reeling me in. I feel like the show has a lightness to it that Heroes didn't have. It's the Fantastic Four to Heroes' X-Men, and that makes it easier to enjoy without scrutinizing. Why didn't Steph's injuries speed heal before we got to see them? Who really cares, it's not that serious.
Detective Cho was one of my favorite characters, believe it or not. Seeing her get killed, and going out like a damsel in distress was a little bit off putting. It seems that our new TK bad guy also hands out the idiot ball like Sylar did. That said, I respected the thought they put into it of having him shoot her with her own gun, no odd questions about sourceless neck-snapping.
I fear for the kids. Daphne especially. JJ's Super-intelligence almost writes itself. Today it's math homework, tomorrow it's super computers, in the season finale it's advancing his mother's research. No problems. I'm not... 'sold' on the high school drama, not by a long shot. It'll take a sure loving hand to make those characters appealing. But who knows, maybe kids are loving those characters.
All in all, it's growing on me, I don't actually *like* any of the main characters, and am a bit displeased with how they responded to pilot testing (Julie Benz is hot? Take off her clothes, no one likes the Detective? Kill her off) trumping story, but, hey, that's the business.
I guess I have a lot to say about it, but the most important thing is: keep up the good work.
