I mean I thought the first two were hilarious Jim Carrey does a great job portraying his character. In my opinion I would love to see another Ace Ventura film. Would you guys like to see another? What are your thoughts?

I doubt Jim would do another and im sure i have heard him say he wouldn`t and no one else should play Ace :D

The only one i've seen is the first one, and I didn't really find it all that funny.
It was a lame as Dumb and Dumber.
There's dumb humor(Family Guy, Scrubs, The Office), then there's stupid, crude humor, like these films. And I just don't think crude humor is very funny.

:whatever:

Just because a movies good (even though, I'm pretty sure AV2 was pretty bad  ), doesn't mean it needs a sequel.

The first is a classic. The second sucks.

Jim's too old for it now, honestly. Plus, it's unnecessary.

the ace ventura movies were awesome, and he should make a third.

i never cared for Ace, myself... yet another sequel seems pointless to me... :down

Yeah, I think he could do another great ACE film.

Leave Jim Carrey alone. He already outgrew his Ace Ventura phase.

I mean, what would you rather see him do: play powerful, instense dramatic role like in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"? or goofing around making faces and jokes like a jester?

both....

First was very good, second was not bad.

3rd? It would ruin everything. Besides, I dont want Jim Carrey to make one more comedy, he should go with more serious thrillers and dramas.

Dont get me wrong, I loved his comedy movies, but the last comedy films with him were not good.

He was GREAT in The Thruman Show, The Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind and now he is making very intersting thriller, The Number 23.

So maybe someday Carrey will even get his Oscar Award :)

If Jim Carrey returns why not? I love his movies apart from Batman Forever.

I'd rather a true sequel to Dumb and Dumber with Carrey back. I don't care what anyone says...it's his best comedy. :)

And who bets they DO and sequel to Ace...but it'll probably be about a Teenage Ace Ventura like the Dumb and Dumber sequel. :( Hell...they'll probably hire the same dude from the DD2 movie

Why not?

The first is gold. Never gets old and still has me laughing. The second has some funny parts, but it doesn't hide the fact that it actually is really bad.

This time, bring back Tom Shadyac.

It better not be like that :down

Ace Ventura 3?

No.

I love the first two, but a third would ruin the franchise.

Well the second one was directed by Steve Odekerk but if Shadyac could get on it I think it could be good.

If they make Ace Ventura 3, they better have Jim Carrey in it. We know all too well what happens when a Jim Carrey-less sequel to a funny Jim Carrey movie is made...

Ace Ventura Jr. Coming to the Big Screen

Production company Morgan Creek has hired Jeff Sank and brothers Jason and Justin Heimberg to write a third installment of the hit franchise "Ace Ventura," says The Hollywood Reporter.

The two previous Jim Carrey comedies -- 1994's Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and the following year's Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls -- grossed more than $180 million domestically.

The latest pet project is expected to center on the eccentric detective's son, who steps into his father's shoes to take over the family business.

First Son of the Mask and now this... :(
