About Pre-retcon/Classic Beyonder.

What's that from, out of curiousity?
I belive it's some Infinities (Beyonders) issue, can't recall which, (I keep the scans on my computer though).

can someone please explain to me what the hell the beyonder is? because if hes as powerful as the scans state and as powerful as you make him sound i can't imagine any other being comparing, even TOAA...anyone else feel that way XD?
Pre-recton Beyonder, was the sum of everything.

Imagion all he powers in the Marvel Multiverse (which is infinite), not just the Multiverse but also every being in it, and emptyness (which is also infinite) beyond it (blank pages)

Even Stan Lee stated in an interview in the 80s, that Beyonder was supose to represent the power the writers had over the comics.

But later come God (Jack Kirby) and TOAA (Stan Lee).

Together they had the powers of everything, but that's together.
One has to agree with the other.

So basicly, Beyonder was supose to have omnicontrol over the comics.
And so does Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, writers and presidents of the Marvel Corp.

Pre-retcon Beyonder = God and TOAA (agreing)

Why does the Beyonder look so cheesy.
I mean he is so omnipotent yet it looks like he can't seem to understand that to dress up you need the lights on.

What does an 800-pound gorilla wear when he sits down in a theatre?

Whatever the **** he wants.

Hehe, reminds me of a bully in my class.
He wear the same old **** clothes for a week or two.
He don't shower after gymclass, heck I doubt he even showers at all . . .
He also smells like a dumpster.

But noone, and than I mean noone comments it, because he's 7-8 feet tall and weigts about 90-100 kilograms and can bench more than he weights.

But he's kinda stupid and easy to manipulate.

You simply have to say: [person X] said that your mother is a ****e.

And he immidietly goes and punch [person X] in the face and than says: Why did you say that my mom was a ****e.

Well you can take back statements but you cannot take back punches.

With this I wanted to say:
Beyonder was then, what TOAA + God is now.

Oh for the love of the King, you don't actually know anything about Jack Kirby do you?

LOL, the leaps of logic and assumptions in this thread are hilarious!:D

1) I liked Beyonder in Secret Wars I. He was all-powerful, but I thought it was only on Battleworld.

2) I hated Beyonder in Secret Wars II. Now he's all-powerful in any universe, anywhere, anytime. He's above GOD. I just don't see the point in a character in an action-oriented adventure book who comes to the MU for several issues just to GLOAT. I know some fanboys ate it up, but really, that series is generally rightly regarded as terrible.

If you're a religious person, or just believe in God in general, this character is the ultimate affront. If not, he's not all that interesting, since nothing can happen to him to make him an interesting character.

That series was beyond (pun not intended) painful. I'm so glad he's been severely depowered.

3) Never read or even heard of Secret Wars III, though I'd like to read it if this is the event which explains/retcons the Beyonder.

4) Bendis' Secret War (not Secret Wars) had nothing to do with the Beyonder. It was really nothing more than a secret mission.

So, after the retcon, how did they (Marvel) explain all the crap he did in Secret Wars?

Ok cool, I'm pretty new to the whole comics thing to be honest, but I really enjoy all the cosmic stuff, so what should I go about collecting to learn everything about the character and stuff? Other than Secret Wars I and II which have been mentioned.

Of course I do, he's the guy that invented Highfather in DC, he was a writer in DC in the begining but than he turn over to Marvel.

And yes he is known as "the King" of comics.

. . . What we have to base it on something, so we based it on logic, like all scientist does.

Religion is comparable to a childhood neurosis - Sigmund Frued.

Science have proven religion, the Bible and Koran, wrong so many times it's not even intiresting anymore.
I see it as a collection fairy tales.

1. Well he was more like the voice, that made the rules, he was like God.

2. Here God got an apearance, I don't know if it had anything to do with all the Beyonder haters.
However it was here he demonstrated his powers the most.
And for some omnipotence fanatics it was a good thing, Beyonder became their rolemodel.

3. It was the last pages in a serval Fantastic four issues.

So, after the retcon, how did they (Marvel) explain all the crap he did in Secret Wars?
They retconed it, made it unexistnat. But if you read carefully you will in some new issues see that they discreet mention the thing.

And it's also the explanation why the Beyonders (race) could slip through the grasp of the Ruling cosmics like the Living Tribunal.

But they never directly say it.

There was a few other issues with Beyonder like:
"Beyonder versus the Phoenix" ect.
However they might get boring (if your not an omnipotence fanatic) because it's simply Beyonder making everyone else look like ****.

So you can't base unlogical facts like cosmic powers, magic ect. on logical facts, is that what you are trying to say?

Does that make you feel superior to me.

I am well aware of the entertainment of being superior.

No.

LOL, no.:D I just find it amusing.:D

:DHahahahahahaha!!!!!:D I think you're letting all this go to your head. Look, you seem to forget I've seen your posts from months back and I know your knowledge is limited. You might have learned a bit from then, but it'll take you a lot more than that before you should consider yourself "superior" to a large amount of the posters here.

Because you feel superior, why do you think everyone laughs when someone else asks a stupid question in class?

Knowledge has it limits but not stupidity.

To be seen as "superior" was never my intention.

Dude, NO! I don't feel superior. Why should I? Over a bunch of random facts and pictures you've pieced together to fit a logic you and other posters deem correct? NO! I don't. Are YOU going to tell ME why I find something amusing? Please!!!!

SSJ4_Mikael said:

Awesome! Then I misunderstood your "I am well aware of the entertainment of being superior" comment. I guess you didn't know how to phrase it correctly in English, my bad!

The moment one assumes they're superior in every way to others is the same moment they're left behind by said others.

Did you put "you" "me" and "I" as some subliminal thing? A'cause I don't get it. And you wouldn't like me when I don't get it. :cmad:

LOL, no! It's not a subliminal thing. It was an emphasis thing.:D

Yeah, so you don't know J/jack. He was at Marvel, switched to DC (and then creating the Fourth World). Afterwards he returned to Marvel, but he basically got screwed by them. His relationship with Stan Lee wasn't always amicable, and Jack was far from being the president of Marvel. Heck, Jack Kirby even created a character called Flunky Flashman as a parody of Stan Lee. Jack Kirby meant a lot to Marvel, and he is definitely one of the factors that propelled it into greatness, but he was never the president of the company or anything similar.

You also don't seem to understand that when either him or Stan Lee is portrayed as God it is meant as a sign of respect, a homage to these great men. It is not to be accounted for in whatever silly tier list of omnipotence you like to create.

Then again, I don't even get your fascination for these characters, considering the Beyonder was easily one of the most bland characters ever created, and you know next to nothing about Thanos beyond his power.
