To be clear this unenforceable rule would mean:
No Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson or James Coburn and the rest in Magnificent Seven, one of the greatest westerns of all time?
No Deniro in Cape Fear.
Can't have Scorsese's The Departed with Jack, Leo and Damon.
Dollars Trilogy? Sorry Clint. Can't be in a new version of Yojimbo.
Anyone like Denzel in Man On Fire? Sorry. It never would have gotten made.
Sorry Jeff. There can be only one The Fly.
Robin Williams and Nathan Lane in the Birdcage? Can't get made.
Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr won't be referenced in Sleepless In Seattle because An Affair To Remember, one of the great romance films of Hollywood was a remake. Also Grant should have thrown out the script for His Girl Friday since it's a remake.
Can't have Jimmy Stewart in The Man Who Knew To Much. Hitchcock was remaking his own stuff with that one.
Don't answer the call for Scarface, Pacino.
The laughs in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? Invalid.
Grew up with Angels In The Outfield? Sorry bout that. The one you knew doesn't exist anymore.
