Total Film had their list of iconic movie characters of the decade...

Aragorn
James Bond
Captain Jack Sparrow
The Bride (Kill Bill)
Jason Bourne
Harry Potter
Shaun Riley (Shaun of the Dead)
Wolverine
Maximus
The Joker

So, who would you choose as your top ten movie characters?

Juno...?

...lack of females on the list...

In no particular order
Patrick Bateman
Voldemort
Gollumn
Rorshach
Jack Sparrow
Magneto
Anton Chigur
Ledger's Joker
V
and hmm, who else, i guesse i will have to agree with Vesper Lynd

By that logic we can also then include Indiana Jones and Darth Vader and Hannibal Lector and.. the list goes on
But why would you...

Indy 4 sucked and Indy himself was nothing special in the movie...Darth was in Ep 3. for 5 minutes...and no Hannibal movie matches Lambs...

Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell: Moon)

President Nixon (Fran Langella: Frost / Nixon)

Tony Stark (Robert Downy Jr. : Iron Man)

Batman/Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale: Batman Begins/The Dark Knight)

The Joker (Heath Ledger: The Dark Knight)

Entire Stark Trek 2009 Cast, especially: Karl Urban as Bones, Zachary Quinto as Spock and, Simon Pegg as Scotty.

Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire : Spider-Man 1, 2, & 3)

Paul Smecker (William Dafoe: The Boondock Saints)

Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood: Gran Torino)

Randy "The Ram" (Mickey Rourke: The Wrestler)

Well vader was vader even without the suit but thats a whole nother arguement

and the other 2 matrix movies are generally considered to be subpar as compared to the first Matrix. Thats what I meant by following the same path of logic, they are defining characters from other decades that suffered from diminishing returns in this one.

I'd agree on Cap. Jack, Tony Stark, Joker, Harry Potter.

From LOTR it'd be hard to nail down one character, but probably Gandalf.

Peter Parker for sure and maybe Bruce Wayne.

Jason Bourne I could maybe see. After that it gets more tricky.

Since Neo started in the prior decade I don't feel so inclined to include him.

Wolverine possibly I guess.

Maybe Optimus Prime(ugh!:whatever:) as well.

Jason Bourne was good, I was actually split between him and Bruce Wayne.

Heath Ledger as The Joker

Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) in Inglourious Basterds

After that, I don't know.

I guess you could make a case for Jason Bourne. He's certainly one of the best recent action heroes.

Maybe Gollum, maybe Harry Potter

Oh yes Gollum. How could I forget! I'd put him above Gandalf as the most memorable LOTR character.

^ Gollum, to me, is without a doubt the best LOTR character, and the best CGI character so far

Here's my list, in no real particular order:

1. Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl)
2. Gollum (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers)
3. The Joker (The Dark Knight)
4. Anton Chigurh (No Country for Old Men)
5. Kirk Lazarus/Sgt. Lincoln Osiris (Tropic Thunder)
6. Rorschach/Walter Kovacs (Watchmen)
7. Jason Bourne (The Bourne Identity)
8. Ron Burgundy (Anchorman)
9. Wall-E (Wall-E)
10. Optimus Prime (Transformers)

Harry Potter
Spider-Man
The Joker
Darth Vader
Randall
Dante
Jay
Silent Bob
Venom
The Guys from Pineapple express

let's not include Darth Vader. i think you mean Anakin Skywalker. Even then, it's not an overwhelming consensus that he was a pop culture icon that Jack Sparrow was.
